Question about Sharp R-1502 Microwave Oven

2 Answers

Microwave works, numbers on display are only partially visible.

Though the microwave itself works fine, the numbers on the display are either partially visible or not visible at all. The problem seems to be worsening with more of the numbers disappearing from the display. Can this be repaired?

The problem is on the control unit (not the keypad) which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Or you can order our exclusive modified control unit with our proprietary upgrades for $95.

Then if you return your defective control unit in repairable, good cosmetic condition, we'll give you a core refund of $30. It comes with a one-year guarantee. Details are here.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

My Samsung microwave model C139STFC got no display but is working fine

If it is an led display, it might have a display driver integrated circuit that has gone bad. More likely, though the driver might be part of the microprocessor. Either way, you'll either need to have an electronics technician fix it, or replace the circuit board.

The display may have an internal fuse. If everything else works fine then the display itself is faulty.

We have a kenmore microwave 721.80803400. the display screen has gone completely blank. the microwave itself works (heats up, etc.) just fine. what part needs to be replaced?

While many microwave control circuit boards and displays are repairable, in this case, you may be better off replacing the board.

The part number is 6871W1S387A and you can get it from the Sears Parts Direct Web site.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

If the microwave is above the stove, the heat sensors in the microwave
may turn on fans to cool it even though the microwave itself is not
running. It tries to save its life. It should turn off when the stove is not
heating it.

Microwave LED only displays partial numbers

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

We have the full service manual at our site, which contains the specific safety & disassembly information you'll need here.

We really need the front door panel assembly (which contains the keypad, display board and connecting cable) as well as the power board to which the cable connects, as shown in the attached photos.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

Sharp microwave oven LCD display malfunctions

Might or might not work. IT worked for me.

This is a common problem. i havent completly solved it yet but this helps.

Be very careful doing this, There is Voltages with AMPERAGES high enough to boil your blood inside a microwave.

I had mine apart cleaning it. Only one number worked on my display. I wiggled and messed around with the wires in the back of the display. And almost every number in the display works again. Hope this helps.
