That treadmill is about 20 years old and is not worth repairing and definitely not worth buying in the first place. Check all the wiring connections at the console and in the uprights. If it's not that then junk it.

It is second hand and if you didn't try before you buy then it not running is probably why it was sold
take it to an appliance repair shop and have it checked out

These are two distinct problems. For the running but stopping it seems like a load or a feedback issue. I would start with the easiest - Lubricate,lubricate,lubricate the walking belt, you maybe overworking the motor drawing to much power causing shutting down - usually this blows the MCB (spendy)

The other users problem more than likely comes from the motor, sounds like a bad leg (check the brushes and armatures)

visit wefixfitnessequipment.com and I will tell you how to flip the deck, tighten the belt and where to get lube. If you are planning on flipping the deck make sure you lube it with the right kind of lube!

SOURCE: I bought a used Cybex Trotter 700 T treadmill that works fine except the increase speed (+) does not work. I tried to fix it and now all of the buttons don't work. Any sugestions?

Dear Sir:
This is probably a 1(faulty speed sensor or the 2( speed sensor is not plugged in properly. Its also possibly a 3(faulty motor control board or lower board+ 4( Main motor faulty. Adjust the speed sensor see the diagram.

Run the software calibration for easy diagnose and troubleshooting.

1) Lube the Deck belt, very well according with your instruction manual maintenance.
2) Lube the rollers bearing too
3) Measure the input voltage motor, if there are The motor need repair.
4) Measure the output voltage board, for input voltage motor, if there are NOT the board is faulty. God bless you

Trotter 510 Treadmill. Plugged in the power switch on we heard a pop and now power is out. Outlet is good, Is there a fuse? or is there a replacement power control board that can be purchased?

How To Re-Wax a Wood Deck for a Trotter Treadmill

Following are instructions on how to re-wax a wood deck for a Trotter treadmill and a list of materials needed for this procedure

Materials Needed for Re-Wax

1 lb. of Trotter deck wax
Clothes iron (never to be used on clothing again)
Belt sander with 120 grit sanding belt
Vibrating sander with 250 and 400 grit paper

Pre-Existing condition: If your wood Trotter treadmill deck is worn down through the first ply, it cannot be re-waxed.

Using a belt sander and 120-grit belt, gently sand in the same direction as the grain the glazed layer off the top of the deck until you have reached porous wood. If, while sanding, the first layer of ply has been sanded off, the deck can no longer be re-waxed
Using a vibrating sander with 250-grit paper, sand the entire top surface of the deck until it is smooth and soft.
After sanding with the 250-grit paper, continue sanding with 400-grit paper until completely smooth.
Heat the clothes iron to its maximum temperature. Put a handful of Trotter deck wax on the center surface of the deck and place the preheated iron on top of it until the wax melts.
Work the wax into the deck surface by pushing the melted wax across the deck with the iron. Add more wax as needed until the entire top surface of the deck is impregnated with wax.
Apply just enough wax until the wood is saturated with wax.

Do NOT leave wax pooling on the surface of the deck.

My trotter 510 treadmill doesn't turn on and just gives off this high pitch sound when turned on

oh, the trotter treadmill that is a workhorse of a treadmill. Question doubled edge. does it start?? or it does not Start. the sound if it does turn on may be coming from the motor which may need new brushes. Trotter is now Cybex fitness. they will have a part to make the repair
