Dimensions of slide scanning template for HP 7400C scanner

I have a HP 7400C scanner with XPA (light box) however I do not have the template to position the XPA or slides for scanning. Would anyone have the dimensions of the template detailing position of the XPA, calibration and slide cutouts to enable me to fabricate one from cardboard

SOURCE: How to scan slides with Visioneer 9520 USB Scanner - it scans who

I have successfully used my Visioneer 9520 to scan 35mm slides, and they came out perfect. To do this, in my image editing software, I select File/Import/Acquire/Visioneer ScanManger Pro. This opens the VIsioneer scan manager window, where I select "Scan 35mm using:" and then I choose the desired scanning configuration, e.g., "35mm Better, 35mm Best, Custom" etc. See image below.
BTW: After several moves, I have lost my 35mm scanning template. Do you know where I can get another one, or do you know someone who could actually scan theirs and email the image to me? I could then create a duplicate from heavy black construction paper or card stock.

SOURCE: Scans slides too dark.

I had red lines after running student art work that done with markers and mounted (this made it think) . I ran Clorox Disinfection wipes on top white paper through the scanner. After about 6 wipes the scanner now scans line free!

C7716a is the scan feeder. You are likely attaching this to a 7400c Printer/scanner. The driver for this is available here:

How do I scan something?

The brother MFC 7400c is a sheet fed scanner, so you should be able to put the paper in the paper slot, and use the scan functions. Granted its connected to a computer via usb, and you run from the computer some kind of scanning software. But for ease and reference, I've included a link to the manual.

Hopefully that helps!

I am looking for instructions on this product.

Step 1: Open the scanner lid and remove the Transparent Materials Adapter (TMA).
Step 2: Place your slides or negatives into the appropriate template. Follow the orientation indicated by the icons on the template.
Step 3: Tip: If you are scanning fewer than the maximum number of negatives with the TMA, cover the empty spaces with the provided light shields to avoid letting any extra light in
Step 4: Place the template on the scanner glass, aligning the arrow on the template with the indicated mark on the scanner bed.
Step 5: Close the scanner lid and press the Scan Film button (or select the Scan Film option if you're using the HP Solution Center application on your PC).
Step 6: In the Scanning from dialog box, click Change Settings.
Step 7: Under Scan Shortcut Settings, select your Scan Type (either Negatives (TMA) or Slides or Positives (TMA)).
Step 8: Under Scan To select Save to file. Then click Scan.
Step 9: Under the Save Location dialog box, click Browse and enter the destination folder of your choice. Click OK and follow any on-screen instructions to finish scanning. The scan will be sent to the destination folder you selected. s.gif s.gif

Hp 7400c haze on INSIDE of scanner glass

I figured this one out.

There is a language panel on the front (that tells you what each button does). The original instructions mentioned putting the panel on but not taking it off. If you use a small, thin screwdriver or thin, dull knife from underneath, you can work your way across the bottom edge, popping off the language panel. When you remove the panel you reveal three screws, one rather tiny one in the center toward the bottom, and two medium sized ones to the sides closer to the top. Slide the glass cover up and off. There are two more medium sized screws near the slots for the cover. Remove all five screws. The assembly with the glass comes right off, allowing you to clean both sides.
