The first thing to do is to rule out human error. Check that the printer is in the “on-line” state. Make sure there is paper in the printer (if it is a cheque printing problem, replace Quicken cheques with regular paper). If you are printing over a network, try printing locally. Check Print Manager for stalled print documents Double-click the Print Manager icon in the Main group or choose Run from the File menu, type PRINTMAN and press Enter. If there are documents listed under the printer name, then click the first one to highlight it and, if Print Manager says it is stalled, press the DEL key to delete it from the list. This will allow stalled or new print jobs to print.
If Quicken used to print everything correctly before The WPR.DAT file may have become corrupted. This file contains the Windows printer information which Quicken utilises. To correct this, exit Quicken, go to File Manager and select the Quickenw directory. Locate the WPR.DAT file, highlight it and go to File, Rename and rename it to OLD.DAT. Exit File Manager, restart Quicken and attempt printing again.
See if the printer can receive anything at all
“Port blast” from DOS. At the C:\> prompt, key in “type autoexec.bat>lpt1” If this does not print out the root directory to the local printer, the printer is not able to get any information from the system at all.
See if anything prints out from Windows
If you can port blast, try printing from Write to see if Windows is having a problem communicating with the printer. Do not use another application to do this. Some programs such as Word Perfect do not Windows for printing. Make sure Write is printing to the same printer as Quicken is. If Write can't print, this implies the problem is not with Quicken.
When “Garbage” is printed
Garbage generally indicates that the printer does not understand the language Windows is communicating in.
Verify the correct driver is being used
In Control Panel. Printers, make sure the correct driver is installed. If not click on Add to select the correct printer from the installed printer list. You can also get printer drivers mailed to you from the printer manufacturer.

Symptom Quicken 2002 (deluxe Installs on WIndows Home Premium x64, HP OEM). Started to fail to print (reports graphs etc), and failed to display dialog to select / configure printer. Published Solution Replace the WPR.Dat / Wpr.ini file in C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Config My solution I had no C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Config. This worked though... 1. Stopped Quicken 2. Renamed / removed WPR.Dat in C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\QUICKENW. 3. Restarted Quicken

Check that the problem is not caused by mismatched paper size, in that case you may need to correct printer settings and adjust also settings on Quicken.

Quicken 2008 is also known for having several bugs that affect printing, if you are considering an update to 2009, that should fix the problem.

You can also check if a patch to fix the problem is available contacting quicken online, check the links below:

Quicken 2008 won't print anything in reports in black

You need to replace the Black cartridge, as it appears the colour one is fine. Look in the printer options on your PC for a display of ink levels, and you'll probably find the black down to zero. If you've used generic cartridges, not genuine HP, you may find the printer can't actually read the ink levels.

Quicken reports won't print

Go to printer under control panel and right click on the printer - select printer properties...advanced tab...check print directly to printer. Checks should print now. Downside...everything prints directly to the printer (no spooling) which can be slow at times. Also I have found printing pdf's using this option won't print so you'll have to change it back. I'm using Windows 7

Quicken reports & reconciliations wont print

If your printer prints other documents properly then it is a problem with the driver for your Quicken program. Go to the Quicken site and upload the latest driver for your operating system.

I have Quicken 2009 and Windows Vista, HP Printer

I've tried off and on for a year to try to get assistance from Quicken and HP because my Quicken reports would not print. Everything else printed just fine. It was so frustrating because nothing worked. I needed to get reports to my accountant and thought I was just going to have to hand write the reports. In the end, I took a photo of the screen (with the report showing), downloaded the photo to the computer, tweeked it a bit with my photo software, then prrinted it. How goofy is this to get a report from a program that is supposed to make my life easier???!!!

Inabilityy to print from QUicken 2008 under Vista 64-bit OS

I can only speak for my situation, which is Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit with a HP7590 all in one printer. I had all the problems I read about, note I was only interested in printing "reports" from QUICKEN 2008 DELUXE.

I was able to use the Quicken PDF printer, but I just installed the HP 990C printer drive and found that report printing now works. I did delete the PDF printer before I installed the 990C, but I would guess that's not necessary.

HP considers the 990C a "generic" printer.

Hope this helps.

Won't Print Quicken Checks- Canon MP620

Here is all I could find, as it is a compatiblity issue and not a repair issue. Hope this helps. You can also get on an online instant chat at and they may also have some answers for you.

HP has apparently released new printer drivers for some of their
> printers that will fix at least one print problem experienced by
> Quicken users.
> If you have an HP printer and are having problems printing from
> Quicken and you use 64 bit Vista, check this HP faq to see if there
> may be help for you.

P.S. It appears that the fix will apply to more printers than are named in
the faq; The way I understand it, if there is a version 12 driver available
for your printer model, you probably should get it.
Apparently the list of printers to which the fix applies will be updated at
some point.
Don't forget to rate this 4 stars before you log out. If I can be of any help let me know.

Quicken 2008 printing vista 64

There is an issue with Quicken 2007 and 2008 printing to many HP printers. Workarounds: 1) print to the Quicken PDF virtual printer, then print the resulting PDF file. or 2) Install a Deskjet 990 driver (using the add printer command) using the same port as the Officejet 7410 is installed.
