Hp 9040 jams in the morning but works fine rest of the day

Thanks (copiersplusw) for the info on the hp 9040. I figured the output assy would be causing the problem. However, on the same printer the user states that every morning when the printer is started up it jams several times by the front door area. I believe its stopping right before the fuser. After a few printed jobs the printer works fine throughout the rest of the day. Any ideas?

You may consider cleaning the feed rollers. If they are plastic, try isopropyl alcohol or if they are rubber, try a rubber roller cleaner similar to this http://www.simplybargains.com/80008.html

What causes paper jam in hp 9040 laserjet copiers

IT all depends on the location of the paper jam. The usual causes are bad feed rollers and fuser units.

Hp laserjet 9040 printer shows paper jam but i can't found any paper jam

This can be caused by a few problems.
1. dust in printer: get blower an blow the printer out.
2. Paper stuck somewhere in printer: look as error and where paper jam is in and inspect that part of the printer
3. faulty sensor: replace sensor

Xerox just gave us authorized service providers notice of this problem. You will need to have a service provider come out to fix it. What city are you in? We can help you if you are in South Florida.

Probebly the swing gear assy, this assy is driving the fuser, is defective. This is a common problem with these machines. Replacing the gear assy should solve your problem.

HP 2430 jams from optional tray 3 only.

Hi Rich,

I've had this problem too. I believe it's the post that holds the drive gears wears or becomes loose causing timing problems.. Unfortunately there's no spare parts available for the optional tray. You would have to purchase a whole optional tray.
