How do I use a Jump Drive?

I have a Lexar Jump Drive FireFly 512 MB Hi-Speed USB Flash Drive which I am having problems in understanding how to use it. I have a laptop computer & also a desk computer.
I thought that the purchase of a flash drive would enable me to transfer data from one computer to another without the use of a cable. Sorry to say, my knowledge of computer enhancements isn't great. Can you help me on this? SDR

The Lexar Flash Drive is simply an easy place to carry data with you when you're on the go. Think of it in the same way we used to use floppy disks. In this case, it's just an easier, more compact, mobile method to store and transfer files needed for use on another computer as an example.

While you can transfer data from one computer to another, it is far less efficient than using a network connection. It would not be a long-term solution unless you have relatively few files that you transfer.

You can transfer your data by copying to flash drive from the 1st computer and copy from the flashdrive to the 2-nd

I suggest yo but an ethernet cable between 2 pc-s, it's faster to copy data or what you need

Also you can buy a switch or a router to connect both computers

Format 4gb lexar jumptwist

The thumb drive you have came already formatted and ready to use. It will read as a DISK because it works the same as a CD or DVD disc. A formatted flash drive is set up at the factory and ready to be used by the new owner. Just copy what you want to move from the computer to the flash drive. When you want to remove data from the flash drive, simply DELETE doing the same as you would on your computer PC or Laptop.

Empty your "Recycle Bin", to permanently detect some "hidden" files on the JumpDrive.

If necessary, try a "quick-Format" to reformat the drive, deleting all "hidden" files.

Someone gave me this one and know nothing about using it I just need to know how to use it

Plug it into an available USB port on your computer. You'll see a message that it's loading the driver for the USB drive.
Then, it's just the same as having a small harddrive on your computer. You can transfer files to it and take it with you to another computer. It makes files portable, or a place for safekeeping.

What operating system are you using? Should work with XP and Vista. Go to windows explorer and click on C drive, click photos folder, select required photo, click and drag icon to the Firefly icon and release mouse button. File should be copied to jump drive.
