Question about Sony Xplod 500W Bridgeable Multichannel Amplifier
I have a sony explod 2 channel amp. when i turn the amp on the protection lite and the over current lite stay and the thermal lite stay on.
any idea what could be the problem. also wen i measure the voltage of the first channel i get the correct voltage. but there is no voltge across the caps after the coil (second channel).... please help its asif the current stops at the coil. coid the coil be a the problem.
Sounds like a problem with the coils. Coils are known to short-out during periods of high-use. This happens when the insulation between wires break down and allow for a path of lower resistance for the current to travel. If this is the problem, you'll have to replace the coils in the amp which is a weekend job, but completely do-able. Hope this helps
