Ativa paper shredder. 16MC06. I accidentally turned it on it's side & now it won't start. I do have power. When I pull out the paper bin the full bin light comes on. When I close the bin goes off.

I was using my Ativa DX180D and it was working fine. It just stopped and there was no power. I have tried all the plugs in the house but still not coming on. The basket is on properly and you can hear the click of the switch when you plsce the top on the basket. Any suggestions?

look for two LED lights where paper falls into bin and wipe them off, but the sensors could be faulty as well. I have seen both.

I encountered the same problem today. I called the support number and they said to simply pull in a downward motion. After brute force, I budged the container enough to start pulling paper out of it. I emptied three grocery bags of shredding by the time I fully emptied the bin. The problem here is that the machine lets you over-fill the bin, thus making it difficult to remove. So check it more often.

I have a Ativa MD 1000 that I just bought. It ran for a few minutes the first time I used it an then stopped. I turned it off and unplugged it in case it had overheated. The temperature light did not come on. I wait for over 30 minutes and tried using it again. I was able to shred a couple of sheets of paper and it stopped again. The next morning I couldn't get it to work at all. The green ready light is on but the shredder will not start. I can't tell if anything is stuck in it. How do I getting running?
