I bought a acer aspire one from someone and there name is still on some files for example C:/Users/shelby maria but my name is josh. please help how to change.
There are no set up changing the name of C:/Users from windows. It can change the C:/ user's name by changing the OS into new one or reformatting it, from there,, you can see the option to change C;/User's name by typing your name on PC's name.

How do I change my name? You can change your name or add an alternate name (ex: nickname or maiden name) to your account. To edit your name:
  1. Review our name standards
  2. Click 851580_142488495957208_1588909839_n.png in the upper-right corner of any Facebook page and select Account Settings
  3. Click General in the left column
  4. Look for the Name setting and click Edit to the far right
  5. Type in your name and save your changes
Keep in mind:
  • To help make sure that everyone uses their real name, we limit the number of times you can change your name.
  • If you weren't able to change your name, we may be able to help.

I was unsure of the internet and FB so I used an alia name when originally signing up for facebook. I would like to change my alias name now to my real name....how can I do this?
Go to your account settings (it's in the "Account" drop down menu in the top right corner) and the first setting should be your name. Just press "change" on the right side, edit your name, and press "Save Changes"

My name change request continues to be rejected
You can submit a name change request through the "Name" section of your Account Settings page. Please note that Facebook reviews each name change request that is submitted. Due to the volume of requests they receive, your request may not be processed immediately.

Please note that Facebook account names must adhere to the following authenticity standards:

  • Your full first and last name must be listed. Initials cannot stand in place of your full name. Nicknames can be listed if they are a variation of your first or last name, but only in the format "First Name 'Nickname' Lastname."
  • Your name must be listed using characters from one language only.
  • Your name cannot consist of any titles, symbols, numbers, unusual capitalization, or punctuation.

Impersonating anyone or anything is not permitted. To encourage people to use their real names on Facebook, they limit the number of times names can be changed. Also, if a Facebook representative changes your name for you, this change is considered final and you can't manually change your name afterwards. To list another name you go by, such as a maiden name, please go to the Account Settings page.

Changing my name
1) click on "account" on the top right corner
2) scroll down until you get to "change name"
3) put in the full name you want to change it to
4) click "change name" and your done =)
5) they have to confirm it for "security reasons" so it might take about a week to change

Change name of 1 extn
Without picking up the handset, press program *# 1234. 003. keeping pressing the speaker phone until the extn u want to change is displayed. Note down the jack no.

Then press hold and 004. Then press speaker phone 1 time and enter the jack no of the extension whose name has to be changed. then change the name. After you finish entering the name press autodial.

If you are referring to the name on your user account, to change the name you go Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Click on "Change an account", you pick on an account to change, click on "Change my name", type up a new name and last click the "Change Name" button.

Display name
Hi, In Windows XP, if by "display name" you are referring to the username during login/logon, it can be replaced by going to Start, Control Panel, User Accounts, Change an Account, choose your account (last name), Change my Name, Provide New Name, follow all other on screen instructions. hope this be of help/idea.
