Memory fails to clear

Hi there,

There could be 2 possible reasons for this.

1. The printer drivers are corrupted and need to be reinstalled
2. The Printer spooler needs to be reset.

Step 1.

To clear the Print job stuck in Queue and reset the Spooler settings, try these command below.

Click on Start button
Click on Run
Type Cmd "Note : If you are using Vista or Win 7, you will have to wait till the word COMMAND PROMPT is shown in the list and right click on it and click Run as Administrator )

You will find a Black Window
Type SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS ( hit enter )
** make sure the command is entered exactly the same pattern**
Then
Type NET STOP SPOOLER ( hit enter key )
Type NET START SPOOLER ( hit enter key )

Do this 3-4 times and finally end the command with NET START SPOOLER
Type Exit to close the window.

Restart your PC and Printer

Try to print it should not..

Step 2,

Uninstall the HP Laserjet Printer Drivers from Add/Remove or Programs and Features list ( from Control panel )

Click on the link below and download the latest drivers for your HP Printer by selecting the operating system.
HP Drivers

Also, if the print jobs are stuck in queue, it could also be because of Faulty Ethernet or USB Cable or low signal on wireless. Try changing the Cables as well.

Suhail

It could be a print spooler problem. You have to clear the print queue first before sending out a new print job and make sure the print spooler service is running. Follow these steps on how to clear the print jobs stuck in the print queue:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder

3. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

4. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print spooler service)

5. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

1. make sure to check if the hardware is able to make color copies, that way u can be sure there is no harware issue. 2. You can download and run an HP utility tool that can help you fix the problem instantly from this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&lang=en&softwareitem=mp-91788-1 3. If you still get the same issue, restart the computer and check the print queue. If there are no print jobs in the queue, you resolved the issue. 4. If print jobs remain in the queue, check the connection between the HP printer and the computer, make sure USB is properly seated if its a USB connection, otherwise if it's wireless, make sure both devices are connected to the network. 5.If issue still persists, make sure the printer is set to online. 6.Manually clear the print queue, restart the comp then try printing again. &. If #6 doesn't resolve the issue.Restart the print spooler by clicking on Control Panel, then double-click Administrative Tools .Double-click Services--In the list of Services , double-click Print Spooler . The Print Spooler Properties window opens, then click Stop to stop the Print Spooler. Click Start to restart the Print Spooler.Click OK and restart the computer.Try printing again. 8. If print jobs from one specific software program are getting stuck in the print queue, the issue might be with the software program or the print driver.Close the software program from which you are trying to print, and then open it again.Print a document from the software program. If the print job gets stuck in the print queue again, try printing a document from Notepad to determine whether the problem is with the program or the driver.Repeat the steps earlier in this document to manually clear the print queue.Type a test message in Notepad and print it, making sure you select your HP product as the printer. If you can print the document from Notepad, but not from the software program, contact the software program manufacturer for assistance. If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting. 9. Remove and Reinstall HP software, then try printing again. If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting. If the issue persists , continue to the next solution. 10. A power reset drains the power from the product and returns to the same settings after restarting. A power reset is a common troubleshooting step, and you can perform one for conditions like print jobs getting stuck in the queue. With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.Wait at least 15 seconds.Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on. 11. If you have tried all of the preceding solutions in the order presented , and the issue is not resolved, try HP forums.

Perform a Factory Reset

Turn the printer power switch OFF on the right side of the printer. Check that the front cover is closed.

Turn the printer power switch ON while holding down the GO button until the Toner, Drum, and Paper LEDs are lit.

Release the GO button. All LEDs will be off.

Press the GO button 8 times. The Ready LED will flash briefly while the printer is reset. After the printer is reset the Ready LED will be lit.

Print a Test Print Page

Print the Print Settings by pressing the GO button three times.

- If the Print Settings pages do not print, check for alarm lights on the printer. Clear the printer error before trying to print again.

- If the Print Settings pages print, the problem is isolated to printing from your computer. Verify the printer cable connects from the back of the computer directly to the printer. If the cable has become disconnected, loose, or connects through another device, the printer may not be able to print.

Check the Printer Driver Properties

Follow the instructions below based on the operating system installed on your computer.

Right mouse click the Brother printer. Left click See What's Printing. The print queue will open. If print jobs are listed in the printer queue, click Printer (at the top of the window) and click Cancel All Documents to delete the pending print jobs. Click Yes to confirm deleting the print jobs.

Click Printer at the top of the window again. Make sure that Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline are not check marked. If either setting is marked, click on the check mark to remove it.

Click Properties from this Printer menu list.

Click the Ports tab. Verify the correct port is selected (LPT1 is using a parallel cable and USB is using a USB cable). Remember to click Apply if you select another port.

Click the General tab and Print Test Page button. The Windows test page should now print.

- If the Windows test page prints, try printing from a program.
Windows Vista:

Click on the Windows icon => Control Panel => Printers or under Hardware and Sound click Printer.

Right mouse click the Brother printer. Select Run as administrator and left click Open.

Job in queue

Let me exaplin the cause why the jobs get stuck in queue: When ever we try to print there is a windows service called print spooler that manages the print jobs in queue. We can clear the jobs in queue by just disconnecting the usb cable and restarting the print spooler service. Here are the steps to restart the print spooler : 1.Click on start 2.Then click on Run 3.In the Run box type " net stop spooler " Then press enter Note: Type the text with out inverted cotes in the run box this will stop the print spooler service Next we have to restart the print spooler 1.Click on start 2.Then click on Run 3In the Run box type " net start spooler " and press enter Once done reconnect the usb cable and check for the jobs in queue. If there are no jobs in queue you can set the print directly settings to avoid this issue in future. Just open the printer and faxes folder and right click on the printer icon and select properties and then click on the advance tab and under it select the option print directly to printer and click on apply and Ok to save the settings. Once done try to print this should resolve the issue.. Wish u success..
