My pc is not booting

Hi eric,
Try connecting your laptop to a different monitor to see if it works properly. If it does, then there is most likely a problem with the laptop display assembly. If the external monitor does not work, then the problem may lie with the laptop's video card.

If you power on the computer and the display is black, make sure the computer is booting up. You can do so by checking the LED lights, listening to the fan, and/or listening for the Windows boot up sound. If either of these are functioning properly, your screen may not be working properly. You may take a look at ourToshiba Satellite LCD installation guide to help you replace the screen.Hope this solves your problem please rate my solution if it helped you.

Note:-Make sure that you are careful while working with the screen or Motherboard as there may be chances of shock if you are a novice i recommend to get it serviced by a professional.

Regards,
bonefirediv.

The system boots normally but does not display on the monitor, what is the way forward

If it boots normally and there is no display on the monitor,it could be

1.Your Display card could have failed or the VGA cable from the display adapter is not connected properly to your monitor- In this case you will see a "no signal" message on your monitor.

2.If the monitor is powered on nothing appears, then your monitor most likely failed.

3.If the monitor's power on led light is not lit, then make sure your monitor is plugged in properly to the power source.

Sometimes this can be even simpler. Put in your Windows CD and boot to safe mode command prompt and type fixmbr. This will repair your master boot record for your primary boot harddisk. Eject the windows CD and reboot and see if it fixes your problem.

My acer aspire 4530 has always be given a distorted display can someone help me resolve this problem?

For, distorted display problem there are 2 possibilities

1> your display drivers are not installed properly so try to remove or uninstall driver from device manager and add & remove program and than install proper drivers

2> if the distorted display is from boot screen than its definately a RAM problem so kindly remove it and refit it properly and if still problem continues than kindly replace it.
