Mods (ported) changes the rpm range the saw will operate. Can you go wrong? YES, if the rpm range is raised too high, you can blow the saw / clutch apart. Clones are just that - clones, buy OEM and be sure.

Try replacing the converter box, its most likely just bad, they do fail.

Yes, you have a shear pin and that is probably the problem...
The shear pin often will not fall out and look like a normal piece but in fact be broken...
The shear pin usually is in the main shaft from the transmission to the auger drive...
Some are right on the auger its self...look around you will find it...

If it is a large black rectangle that blots out the middle of the screen then you need to check your CC (closed caption) setting. Make sure the closed caption is turned off. I'm not up to date on the newer sets, but a lot of the older ones had more than one CC setting. One setting ran the captioning across the bottom, another put it in a big black box in the center of the screen. Most places didn't support the full text so all that showed was a big black rectangle on the screen. Since I'm not sure exactly what your rectangle looks like, this is my best estimate of your problem. Hope this helps.

The best bang for the buck is a race cam. Google performance motorcycle cams and then make a couple of phone calls. There may be a cam for your engine sitting on a shelf or you just send them your cam and they re-work it and send it back. The cost is around $250 plus the cost for your local bike shop to remove and then re-install the cam. Other mods do not even begin to add power the way a hot cam will.
