Hi my internet explorer is running with add ons disabled and i can't see pictures or watch videos or do anything i used to do before it happened, i have tried many things but it doesn't work, when i go to the yellow bar it doesn't give me the option "manage add ons" it only shows about add ons and more info, i uninstalled internet explorer 8 as i've been told to do and installed ie7, still the same problem, i have no idea what to do anymore as i don't understand much about computers, i just want my internet explorer back as it was before. i do want to block flash ads each time i go to my hotmail but thats all, now the whole computer is not working properly, please help me, if possible, step by step. i want to have activex control.

You have downgraded to IE7 but your IE8 setting are still active in the background you need to do a system restore to the last point when you setting worked fine that should fix the problem

If Internet Explorer is crashing , your dilema likely lies with a buggy browser add-on. However, Internet Explorer crashes can have a alot of other causes, including incompatibilities with hardware rendering and possible malware.


crashes are often cause by buggy add ons. you can check to see if that is the problem by running internet explorer with out add ons
To do so, open the Start menu and launch the All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) shortcut.
If running Internet Explorer with no browser add-ons fixed your problem, you can disable the add-ons one by one to identify the one causing the problem. Click the gear menu and select Manage add-ons to open the Manage Add-ons window.

Symptom:
When launching Internet Explorer, you may notice that Internet Explorer takes longer than expected to start.
Cause:
This issue can be caused if there are damaged or incompatibilities with installed Internet Explorer add-ons. This behavior may be more visible in Internet Explorer 8 due to changes in the way that Internet Explorer 8 handles the internet zones list.

This issue can also be caused if using Spybot and the Spybot immunization feature is enabled.
Resolution:
To resolve this issue, troubleshoot the Add-ons to determine which Add-on may be causing the issue and then disable or uninstall the Add-on and then contact the manufacturer of the Add-on for support with that Add-on.

To do this, follow the steps listed below starting with Step 1.

Note: If you currently have Spybot installed with the immunization feature enabled, you will need to disable that feature until that issue is resolved. If you’re not sure how to disable the immunization feature, contact the vendor for more help.
Step 1: Run Internet Explorer 8 in "No Add-ons" mode to determine if the issue is Add-On related.
loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); Internet Explorer 8 add-ons, such as ActiveX controls and browser toolbars, are used by some Web sites to provide an enhanced browsing experience. An error may occur if an add-on is damaged or if an add-on conflicts with Internet Explorer 8.

To determine whether the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer 8 in "No Add-ons" mode. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then type Internet Explorer in the Start Search box.
  2. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer 8 opens without add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.
  3. Test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If issues still occur, try Step 3.
If no errors occur, the problem is caused by one of the add-ons that typically load together with Internet Explorer 8. In this case, continue to Step 2 to determine what Add-on is causing the issue.
Step 2: Use the Manage Add-ons tool to determine which add-on is causing the issue

  8. Click Enable for a single add-on.

After you have used this process to determine which add-on is causing errors, you can disable that add-on. Or, you can uninstall the software that installs the add-on. We also recommend that you contact the software vendor that provided the add-on for additional troubleshooting and support.
Step 3: Reset Internet Explorer 8 settings

To view or modify the add-ons on your computer by launching Manage Add-ons:

Follow the steps below to Enable the Add-on
To re-enable an add-on in Internet Explorer 8
  1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, and then clicking Internet Explorer.

  2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.

  3. Under Show, click All add-ons.

  4. Click the add-on you want to enable, and then click Enable.

  5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on you want to enable. When you are finished, click Close.

To re-enable an add-on in Internet Explorer 7

Downloaded a patch. May have installed wrong. I try to edit picture album to add picture. All I get is text programing info, but will not add pic.


Hi!
What patch were you trying to install??

Adding/editing pictures to Facebook uses Java platform. Uninstall ALL Java installations on your computer (look in Add/Remove Programs - on Windows XP or Programs and Features on Vista/7), then download the latest version of Java from here.

Close all browser's instances and install Java. Once installed, open Facebook and try again.

An add-on might causing this problem. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> manage add-ons. Disable any suspicious add-ons and click OK when done. Restart Internet Explorer then try Facebook again.

Also, try cleaning browser cache (in Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options then click Delete under "Browsing history section"). Restart your browser and try again.

Alternatively, I would recommend using Firefox, as a replacement for Internet Explorer! You get get it here

Internet explorer unhandled third party exception


Are you using IE7 or IE8? In XP and Vista they should install an Internet Explorer (No Add-ins) option. In XP it is installed to All Programs>Accessories>System Tools. Try running that option - if all is okay without add-ins then it is one of these going wrong. You can manage the add-ons through Control Panel>Internet Options. On the Programs Tab Hit Manage Add-ons at the bottom. Disable any non-microsoft ones and start IE. You can then add each one back in one at a time until the issue arrives again. When it does disable that Add-in and you should be okay.

IE8 freezing/crashing


Hi there.
Don't bother with IE8 at the moment because there are too many bugs with it.
Either go back to IE7 or use mozilla firefox 3.

Try these steps first. I assume you are using IE 7. If these steps do not work try reinstalling your IE. Let me know if you need anything else. Good Luck.

Method 1: Clear cached data in Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); To determine whether a performance issue or an error message is caused by corruption in the temporary Internet files or in other cached information that is used by Internet Explorer 7, you must clear cached data. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
  2. Click Tools, and then click Delete Browsing History.
  3. In Delete Browsing History, click Delete All.
  4. Click to select the Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons check box, and then click OK.
A progress bar is displayed to indicate that the browsing history is being cleared. After this process is complete, test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If issues still occur, try Method 2.
Method 2: Reset security settings for Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); If you configure security settings to be too restrictive, you may prevent Internet Explorer 7 from displaying certain Web sites. To determine whether an issue is caused by overly restrictive security settings, revert to default security settings. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open Internet Explorer 7.
  2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click Reset all zones to default level, and then click OK.
After you do this, test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If issues still occur, try Method 3.

Note If this method does not resolve the issue, you can restore Internet Explorer 7 to its previous security level.

You might want to re-enable a browser add-on if you disabled an add-on but want to go to a site that requires it, or if disabling the add-on caused general display problems with webpages or Internet Explorer.    To re-enable an add-on
1.     Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2.     Click the Tools button, click Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.
3.     In the Show list, click Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons.
4.     Click the add-on you want to enable, and then click Enable.
5.     Repeat step 4 for every add-on you want to enable. When you are finished, click OK.
