First off, D12-100 is your direct TV Box, Not your TV. A D-12 -100 direct tv box is not an HD box and will only connect to your tv via a coaxial cable or av jacks (red, white, yellow).
If you have lost your remote for your tv and your direct tv remote does not operate it, then you should be able to find the manual buttons on your television somewhere along the edge of the screen.
Toggle inputs till your on "TV" then use the channel selection to toggle it up or down till it's on channel 3 or 4 for Direct tv, If that doesn't work toggle inputs again and try the AV inputs. And of course if you want to use another device toggle inputs to HDMI 1 or 2.
Your laptop should have a Function key and a monitor toggle button. THe function key is normally labeled "Fn" in the lower left corner of the keyboard, and the monitor toggle button is usually in the F-key row (F1-F12) at the top. Look for the key that has a picture of one or two monitors or rectangles. Hold the Function key down and press the toggle button a time or two. This should move you through the different viewing modes. What kind of laptop is it?
You will probably need a standard VGA cable. The ends look like the connection for a monitor. Take a look if you don't know what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector
There should be a port on your laptop and one on the projector. After it's hooked up you might have to toggle between the projection settings or select the correct source on the projector. Normally, there is a source or input button on the projector. If the picture isn't showing up on the projector but is on the laptop or vice versa, you'll need to toggle between settings. On my dell, it is fn (function) and the F8 key but sometimes it's the F7 key or some other F? key, just look for the LCD/CRT on the function button or the picture of a monitor looking thing. This is only if you don't see the image from the projector. Hope this helps you out!
Hit the menu button, and look for the word "idioma" which means language, and select that. You should then be able to toggle back and forth between English and Spanish.
You may have to look under "opciones config. vcr" which is VCR Setup to find it.
Hope this helps, Good Luck!
