SOURCE: Washer agitates, but makes horrible grinding noise. Spins okay.
thanks for posting problem solve :0)
SOURCE: loud cliunking noise in beginning of spin then won't spin
get a flashlight and see if a foreign object has fallen down through one of the tub holes and is jamming the tub you have to look real close

It is possible that the belt has come off or the lid latch is no functioning.
First unplug the machine then remove the two screws from the front lower edge of the washer.
The front panel will lift up towards you at a 45 degree angle. The latches will release than the entire front panel can be place out of the way.
The lid latch can be seen on the underside of the top panel to the right, check that the wires are not loose.
You will see a large motor mounted upright near the base this should have the belt around the pulley to the bottom of the tub assembly. Check for obvious damage
Outside of this you will need a repairman for help.
SOURCE: My washer is making a horrible noise when it goes
The bearings on those washers go bad and the washer gets very loud during the spin cycle. It probably won't explode but for what it might cost to fix it you might want to blow it up yourself
Hello terilym - From what you have described it sounds like you possibly have foreign objects such as coins or safety pins in the tub or pump. I suggest unplugging the washer and carefully check the tub and to verify that the drum is also not damaged. If noise continues after washer is restarted, objects may be in the actual pump. Contact a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the unit.
