SOURCE: Cant get my lawn tractor to start
IT COULD BE IGNITION SWITCH IS BAD, I REPLACED ONE ON A CRAFTSMAN THAT DID THIS,BUT ALSO COULD BE A SAFETY SWITCH IS NOT CLOSED PREVENTING STARTER FROM OPERATING,---WITH THE IGNITION SET TO ON CROSS THE TERMINALS ON SOLENOID AND SEE IF IT STARTS THE TRACTOR RUNNING, IF IT FAILS TO RUN ITS PROBALY THE IGNITION SWITCH THEN.
SOURCE: tractor won't start. Battery fully charged but
kill switch is on? which would be the case when: mower perhaps engaged? or not sitting in seat? clutch not depressed fully?
SOURCE: battery is fully charged checked with meter. once
Sorry to say, yes, anything with a kid trax or safety 1st battery has a problem. Go to www.cammhsm.com and you can find some help. I know, I have one.
SOURCE: Even with a fully charged
Here is a test you can do.. Follow the thick red cable from the battery to what is call a solenoid you will see two rods with the red wire from the batter going to it and a red wire going to the starter leaving it.. Take a screw driver and connect the metal rod to each other make sure you are touching the rubber handle of the screw driver you will see sparks because you are connecting the batter power to the starter.. if the engine turns over then you need to replace the solendoid that is your problem.. you pick them up at any auto store. If that doesnt work please let me know thanks..
You need to check that there is a 12volt supply from the low tention wire at the solinoid when the key is turned, if there is not either the switch is bad, or the wire from the switch is bad, or the fuse has blown.
