SOURCE: printer cannot detect new yellow ink, the near empty message on
The Ink sensor sounds like it needs to be replaced. This happens from time to time.

I had the same problem and found that one of the toner cartridges must have not been seated properly. I removed the black toner cartridge and re-fitted it. The printer now works fine again with no errors. 17H is a code relating to a fault in the rotation ......... possibly one or more toner cartridges need checking. Use the menu on the printer to turn it to the appropriate position (i.e. engine menu then select replacement of whichever toner you are checking).
Hope this fixes your as well.

remove the opc drum.
there are two black plastic flags that detect paper jams. one is high up just below the fuser unit. The other is roughly half way up the printer between two small transfer rollers very close to the opto sensor. Apparently it frequetly gets jammed behind the plastic cover, and once jammed you would never realise it is there.
I managed to prise it out from behind the cover and the "paper jam at transfer roller" message was cleared.
Unless you know it is there and hiding it is not obvious at all that anything is wrong.

You can change the 2300's menu setting to ignore empty toner cartridges and keep printing. There are 2 steps:
Step 1:
Press Menu/Select, then "right arrow" until you see ENGINE. Press Menu/Select again and then "right arrow" until you see TONER EMPTY. Press Menu/Select and you'll see STOP. Press "right arrow" once to change to CONTINUE. Press Menu/Select.
Step 2:
Press "right arrow" until you see AUTO CONTINUE. If set to ON, press the "Cancel" button and you're ready to print. If set to OFF, press Menu/Select, then right arrow to change to ON, then Menu/Select to enter. It will say "ON IS SELECTED." Then press the "Cancel" button and you're ready to print.
