I plugged my speakers into the back of my computer and I still cant get any sound. What should I do?
Verify that the speakers are plugged into the correct color coded plug in back.
Verify that the speakers are plugged into a power source
Verify that the speakers are on
Verify that the speakers are turned up on the actual speakers
Verify that your sound is not muted in windows (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound (vista) or just Sounds in XP > Adjust system volume. You can also try opening Windows Media Player and unmuting/turning volume up there.
Try several files, mp3s, videos. make sure its working.
If you still have no sound try updating the drivers for your sound card, you can figure out what type of sound card you have from the control panel, system, device manager, sound. then just go to that companys website and search for your card to download the latest.
If you do all of this you should have working sound... if you still dont then that would indicate the speakers or a cable is defective, you may want to do some trial and error with known good cables/speakers.
