Question about Lexmark X73 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer works, copier and scanner do not

This Lexmark x73 works beautifully when just printing, but when I try to copy or scan it will not see the document and just prints out a page of black lines or stripes or a "tweed" looking pattern. We have uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, everything. Running it on Windows XP. Please help. Thanks, Katie G.

    Bi-directional was enabled. Printer is USB, not parallel connected.

You might try enabling bi-directional printer support in printer properties, if its paralell cable then it is in bios, epp or ecp.

Lexmark X73 Printing Problem


When you say that your all-in-one system will copy, but will not print from the computer, this tells me that there could be a connection problem between the printer and the computer. This is more then likely a driver problem. you will need to go to lexmark and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
But this could also be a broken or loose cable.

Artcopy 55?


To resolve this error, complete steps A and B below. Step A:
  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files\LexmarkX73.
  3. Delete the Artcopy55.jac file.
  4. Open the Scan & Copy Control Program. (Go to Start, Programs, Lexmark X73, Scan & Copy Control Program.)
    The file will be rewritten with the latest settings.
Step B:
  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Go to C:\Windows\Twain_32.
  3. Delete all folders except for the Lexmark folder.
  4. Reboot the computer.
Note: If completing the above procedure doesn't resolve the problem, JETSOFT recommend reinstalling Windows XP as a solution. (JETSOFT is the company that developed the Scan & Copy Control Program.)

I have a lexmark x73 i'been instaling so manytimes on order to make the scaner to work but nothing I would apreciatte if you can give me some tips or help thanks


Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work fully with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Lexmark X73) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hi My Mexmark X73 printer-scanner does not print nor it scans.


Try hard reset .

Unplug the power cord for 30 minutes . This resets your printer . Plug back the power cord to printer .

This will clear most of the problems .

If this does not work uninstall the driver file from the printer and reinstall the driver file .

is there's nothing from lexmark, who makes the drivers, then there's nothing to it. you could set up a print server, and maybe that will do it.

I had the same exact problem. Check your cable if it is a 1.0 usb you will need to buy the new 2.0 usb cable. They have them at shop4tech.com for cheap!!!!!

Trouble scanning without pc


Using the operator panel:
  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Open the top cover.
  3. Place the document face down in the lower right corner.
  4. Close the top cover.
  5. Press the Color or the Black copy button as required.
Using the computer:
  1. Make sure the printer and your computer are turned on.
  2. Open the top cover.
  3. Place the document face down on the scanner bed in the lower right corner.
  4. Close the top cover.
  5. Click Start, Programs, Lexmark Xx3, Scan & Copy Control Program.
  6. Select the number of copies.
  7. Click the option that matches the desired color of the copy.
  8. Click the Copy button.
To customize the copy settings:
  1. Click Start, Settings, Lexmark Xx3, Scan & Copy Control Program.
  2. Click File and then Setup.
  3. Select the Copy/Fax tab.
  4. Customize your settings as required.
  5. Select OK to start copying

Scanner will not scan


Set this options un der Control panel Scanner and camera. If fails try this, Uninstall everything HP Installed. Unplug the scanner. Then reboot. THen install the drivers and applications. Then reboot. then insert the HP scanner into the USB.

My 4 in 1 wont scan but does print


Before we give up on the scanning/copying ability of your machine. Try unplugging the machine from the wall and from the computer for at least a couple minutes. If that doesn't work, You may also check for a factory reset switch or reset mode you can choose. http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?category=Drivers&ccs=229:1:0:94:0:0&os_group=WinXP&searchLang=en Last but not least. Uninstall the printer again, unplug it from the wall and computer. Make sure you restart the machine and even shut it down before trying to reinstall the drivers. The above site has a patch for the scanner. Not sure if its what may be ailing yours. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
