Open the back cover and whatever you can and use your hair dryer to blow out or dry the water traces still inside. Next time you decide to give your phone a bath, do remove the battery immediately after. And repeat the above process for a few minutes many times. And remember, NO HEAT. We dont want to toast our phone.

Lens shacking automatically

I have a D200 with a Nikkor AF-S DX 18-200mm ED zoom, and I have a similar issue with the inside of the lens shaking when I turn it on, It turned out to be a problem with the vibration reduction motor inside the lens. I first noticed a problem when zooming that it wasn't smooth, as though the inside lens was catching on something. It turned out that a roller inside the zoom somehow caught the wiring strip inside the lens and damaged it, causing the VR motor to short out.
There are forums that tell you how to repair the problem yourself on that lens, providing that you can get the replacement parts. I elected to send mine in for a repair, and hopefully its going to cost less than $AU200.00

I have a GE Profile refrigerator model PFSS5PJXA SS, French doors with bottom freezer and water dispenser, no ice, on right door. A small rubber disk fell of from behind the paddle that the glass is...

I removed the control panel (2 tabs under the front edge) removed the 4 screws holding on the paddle assembly and removed the assembly. The disk is glued on the back( I used super glue). If it happens in the future I would try to glue it on without removing everything. If you use a mirror you can see the detent where the disk mounts to the paddle and glue it back on. The disks function is to push on the switch that is located behind a gray rubber panel behind the paddle.

My A630 got wet and has a water stain behind the lens. Can I remove the lens to clean the stain?

You can but, you must be VERY careful.  It isn't like a film camera.  Everything must be lined up perfectly when you put it back together.  There is also a very small pickup behind the lens that will need to be cleaned.  It is about 1/8" X 1/4".

Exilim Z1000 got wet - won't turn on

Remove the battery and dry it out. Don't try to use artificial heat to speed it up, Just leave it sit out for a few days (if the weather's fine) or a few weeks if it isn't. If that doesn't work you may have shorted something, you could send it in to Canon, they'll estimate it when they see it. I once left my favorite 10-CD boom-box out overnight in a downpour. I dried it out for three months up in the barn, brought it in and found one corroded connection, re-soldered that and Hendrix sounds as good as ever.

Been out in the rain and despite covering my digital slr it may have got damp. Now it won't switch from manual to auto focus even though the switch moves. Is gentle drying likely to cure the problem?

Took lens off the camera and let it dry out in gentle heat over a period of five hours. The problem seems to be solved.
Moral of this story; don't put too much faith in waterproof covers during very heavy downpours!

Flash not working

Hey influenza,
Nearly dropping the camera should not affect the operation of the flash unless the flash was extended and you caught the camera by the flash and it is somehow physically damaged. What is more likely is the camera is either set to a mode that doesn't allow the flash to operate, or the flash is set to auto off. Directions on how to turn the flash on or off start on page 34 of your camera manual. I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera manual in case you need it. I hope this helps!

WATER MARK IN LENS

This cannot be addressed except by a qualified artificer, and the cost would be prohibitive. Replace the camera, and be more careful in future.
