True Key want to instal, but I don't want it when I hit No Thanks key it will not clear

SOURCE: I hit a wrong key and now my hp12c will not clear

My mother worked for HP in the 60's - 80's and when I became a banker she gave me one of the first HP 12c's. One of the things we first noticed was how quickly we went through batteries, or so we thought that was the reason why the calculator was giving us wrong answers.

My mother came up with a solution which I still use today. If you have tried all known solutions, turn off the calculator and take the cover off the battery and remove the battery. Using a standard paperclip, stretch out the clip so that you can touch both sides of the metal casing where the battery normally sits (sometimes you have to tough the casing and then something metal outside the casing). The best way I can explain, is that it is like grounding out an older car alternater. Put the battery back; put the cover back on, turn on the calculator. If you get a
"Pr Error" message this is good news. Simply select the CLX key and life is wonderful again.

That is not true..You have to remove the steering wheel to get to the retaining clips that secures the key cylinder. If you still have your original purchase papers you can go to the dealer and they can cut you a key...If your car is used or you don;t have the key codes. You will have to go to a auto locksmith (and a good one to have this done.) The key cylinder reads a resistance in the pellet and it has to match the one programmed into the cars bcm (body control module) or the car will not start. Just any cylinder and key won't do... it has to be coded to the bcm.

Make sure you Press and Hold the FN key then hit the key that increases or decreases the volume. If the FN key is not held down while you press the volume keys, they will do nothing. The brightness works the same way, you must Press and Hold the FN key then hit the key that controls the brightness.

How do you remove the tab set
You probably have the L. margin set there. Return to that point, press but don't hold the MAR REL key, backspace to desired location, press L. MAR key.

Please try this step to turn off your alarm light.
1. Hit the "menu": Key
2. Hit "Copy" Key
3. Hit "#" Key
4. Scroll thru the menu headings until you come to "Test Mode" - 12th heading
5. Hit the "3" button- this will bring up Eprom Clear
6. Hit "0" button
7. Hit the "Stop" button

How do you clear a tab someone preset. when I get to the far right of page and hit return it will on return to a tab. How do I clear all the preset margins or tabs.?? thanks
To clear margins, you have to hit the return button to find the left margin, then hit margin release and back space to move the margin left or spacebar to move to the right, then hit left margin button to set the new position. Right margin now. Hold spacebar down and find right margin position, hit margin rease and either spacebar to the right or backspace to the left to the new margin position then hit right margin button to set the new position. Tabs now. hit the tab key, when it goes to the first set tab, hit the tab clear key, then hit the tab key again, then tab clear again etc.

Removed the sorter from a ricoh FT5832 copier and replaced with copy tray. how do I bypass the sorter cover (C-5) error message? Will not operate without the sorter plugged in.
Enter the SP mode by hitting the CLEAR MODE key, 1 0 7 then hold the CLEAR STOP key. When SP mode is selected , "1" blinks. Then enter SP 6-101-0 by hitting 6 then the . (dot) key, the 101 then the . (dot) key then the 0 key then the . (dot) key. This will tell the copier that NO sorter is intsalled. Hit the CLEAR MODE key 3 times or turn the machine off/on.

How to clear and set margins and tabs please on
You must hit the carriage return button to find the current position of the left margin, then hit the mar release button and use the backspace key to move the carriage to the new position that you want the margin to be set at, then hit the left margin key to set it. Then move the carriage to the right to find the right mar, hit the mar release key and use the spacebar to move the right mar to the new position you want, then hit thr right mar kay to set it.

Enter the admin mode (U-5) by holding down the Panel Reset key for 3 seconds (until "U- " appears in the display), entering the number 5 from the keypad, and pressing the start key. Enter the 6 digit administrator code and press the start key again. The display should show "Ad-". Enter 1 from the keypad and again press the start key. The display should read "0". Hit the clear key, enter "1" and hit the start key yet again. Hit Panel Reset several times (or turn the machine off and back on) to return to normal operation.

The default administrator code is 000000.

If you do not know the administrator code, it will be necessary to reset it using the tech rep mode. Enter the tech rep mode by pressing the Meter Count key and hitting "Stop - 0 - 0 - Stop - 0 - 1" quickly. Then hit 7 and the start key. The administrator code will flash. You can write it down and use it, or hit the clear key and enter a new code, then the start key. Exit as above.
