What OS, how long you have used? Do you groom this computer (run Disk Cleanup, defrag, antivirus and spyware scans/cleanse at least monthly)? If not, try doing all that first

Fristly, Defrag the drives. Secondly, use some SW to clean the Registry. If these dont work then, Restore to an early date when it was running fine. If still No Go, then make a backup of your data and re-install Windows or whatever OS you have.

Windows 7 Slow Loginc9df55f.jpg
Are you stuck in this window for a very long time???

I came across this problemafter I install my Windows 7 on my notebook. I am so excited to get ahold of my windows 7 at that time and then I sense something is notright. When I log-in to my account, I noticed that the loading takes around 20 seconds. I was not convinced that this is a hardware issue because I have all the drivers installed.

As I was surfing the internet, I saw a theme for Windows 7. I install it just to try it then suddenly when I tried to restart, I noticed that the login time speed up drastically. So I surf the internet why does this happen and come up with an answerthat the login problem in Windows 7 is cause by the Desktop Background.

How to fix Windows 7 slow login / start up:

The solution is you have to change you desktop background from a "Solid Color" to any background that you like. If you really like a solid color background, you can do a workaround by creating a solid color image using Paint or Photoshop then set it as a Desktop Backgound. I don't know what is the connection of it but this solution really works. ^^

Hope that this solution help you.

This can be found in the Help and Support section of Windows on your laptop.

To change the desktop background
  1. ?id=microsoft.windows.resources.shellexecutetopiciconRight click on your desktop-Select personalize. This will open a window that asks you to select your desktop background

  2. Click the picture or color that you want to use for your desktop background.

If the picture you want to use isn't in the list of desktop background pictures, click an item in the Picture location list to see other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer. When you find the picture that you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background.

  3. Under Picture position, click the arrow and choose whether to crop the picture to fill the screen, fit the picture to the screen, stretch the picture to fit the screen, tile the picture, or center the picture on the screen, and then click Save changes.

Note
  • If you choose to have a fitted or centered picture as your desktop background, you can also frame your picture with a color background. Under Picture position, click Fit or Center. Click Change background color, click a color, and then click OK.
