Question about GE JD900WK / JD900CK / JD900BK Electric Kitchen Range

Was useing the oven and then everything stopped

Was using the oven and then everything stopped working - No Display or anything?? Thought it was a Main fuse as everything went off. But the fuse was not the issue. When I turn on a Burner it does not heat up - But the display will come back on - until I turn off the burner again. there seems to be a Hum or a slight vibration when I turn on the Burner??

What is going on??

Sounds like a house wiring problem or terminal block on the back of the unit. You seem to only have 110 volts to the unit. One of our connections may have burnt.(the clock thing I have seen many times, it is feedback.) Unplug the unit and check the wires from the unit and and to the house.

Most of these are belt driven. You need to uncase the unit and check the belt.

Like anything with high voltage, use good safety practices.

Oven shows stop on display and cant be used

I don't have a solution but a thought. Sometimes the main circuit board can be corrupted during a power surge or outage. You may need to have the circuit board re-set by a professional tech or replace it. Can you try going to the breaker box/pannel and flipping the breaker off for about 30min. to let the circuit board re-set. If that doesn't work then see if someone else has any suggestions or call a tech.

Power outage issue

You unit is stuck in the "Display Model Mode". Hold the stop/clear button for at lest five seconds in insure the interlock activates. If it does not activate then the electronic range control (erc) is not functioning. Replace the erc (Clock/Display.)

Oven is not working

Both elements are controlled by a common relay on the ERC (Electronic Control Card) and cannot be repaired. The ERC needs replaced. This is also referred to as the Clock/Display.
