Maybe your sd card is broken. Try to pull your SD card then put it back again.

My sd card when I insret not workinkg on fujitsu siemens amilio pro 3205 when I restart it works sometime

Hi Peter, this would depend on the type of card & OS that you are using, if you have a standard sd card with XP then it will only recognise a max of 2gb, if you try to use a SDHC card then it will not work at all, but if you had win 7 on the same unit then any sd card would work as long as there are no compatibility issues, hope this helps.

I have locked my memory card and forgotten the password. Format card also requires password and my laptop cannot read it. Please help.

All you have to do is:

Step One:
To save data, use EASEUS Data Recovery software (free version - 1GB of data recovery). how:
1. Download and install EASEUS Data Recovery
2. Choose Complete Recovery - Next
3. Choose the drive micro SD - Next
4. Save the data to the hard disk (max. 1GB)
5. Because of your micro SD 2GB, repeat the process of recovery (repeat step 2, 3, 4)
After all data is secure, do the process of removing the micro SD password

Step Two:
The first alternative - use the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
1. Download and install the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
2. Then, double click the file cp006049.exe
3. If you are using Win XP, double click the file cp006049.exe - select Install.
4. If you are using Win Vista or Seven, double click the file cp006049.exe - select extrack.
5. Then, open the program "HP Drive Key Boot Utility or hpdkbu.exe" - Next - select drive - Next - Create new or replace exiting configuration - Next - Hard drive - Next - Create new file system - Next - wait until the process is completed - Next - Finish.
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

The second alternative - use software HDD Low Level Format Tool
1. Download and install HDD Low Level Format Tool
2. Select micro SD - Continue
3. Click S.M.A.R.T - click Get Smart Attributes
4. Click LOW LEVEL FORMAT - click Format this device
5. Wait until the process is complete - press OK
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for using FixYa!

If you want to use an external cd drive these are the ones that will work and only these..
The procedure is getting into BIOS settings (press F2 on start ) and on boot sector select the external drive as boot device )
If you want to boot from a SD card or USB memory stick ..than you have to make a boot-able one ..and from what I tried is kinda tricky to make a XP one..so you might consider to install windows 7 if the Ram memory is at least 1 G
But if you want to try ..here are some resources about how to make such a boot-able flash ..
here is for vista and 7 if you do nto have the cd drive ..use a virtual one like iso hunt
http://www.intowindows.com/bootable-usb/
Here is an xp ..and the tools for making a boot-able stick ..read carefully the instructions ..
it was made to install a asus eee which is also a non cd drive net-book
http://wiki.eeeuser.com/windowsxpusb
They recommend to select teh boot device on each restart ..I say to check the bios and see if the boot from usb is available and select it first boot device throughout the installation ..

Picture transfer through PC cable won't work, usb not recognized

Try another computer. Win XP doesn't require the SD card to be formatted. Win 7 does.
Transfer the pics to a directory, and format the SD card in the Lumix camera. Refer to the manual for directions on how to do this.

Please check if the Computer supports SD card of larger capacity.
If preinstalled OS is Windows XP Operating System, supports SD card from 512 MB to 2 GB max and does not support SDHC card.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 Computer supports SD and SDHC card upto 8 GB to 16 GB,.

Coolpix s220 won't transfer pics via usb cable

If you can get the pics using a card reader, why are you insisting on using the camera and USB cord? Pros always use a card reader.
