You have a defrost problem and will have to remove the back cover to access the condensor to fix it. You should see a condensor blocked with ice and also blocking heat transfer to freezer. Thaw out with hair dryer then you will need to cut wires to defrost thermostat (round thingy wired before defrost heater) Bypass the thermostat and manually set defrost timer into defrost mode by turning clockwise with screwdriver until you hear a loud click.. if the heater comes on then you have a bad defrost thermostat. If the heater does not come on then you need to check the heater with a ohm meter for continuity. hope this helps

I bought a maytag side by side in 2002; model # MSD2454GRQ, SN 18157432AL, REV # 18. Ice is forming at the bottom of the maytag freezer department. Overnight ice will form at about 1/8 inch and left has...

Defrost problem: 3 components. Defrost Heater. Timer (circuit board or motorized) & Thermostat.
Remove cover on the inside back wall (usually 6 screws). Note frost pattern. (bottom of evaporator coil)
Put refrigerator into defrost cycle and note the defrost heater come on, or not. (careful heater can glow red hot)... Unplug Frige and test defrost components. Replace bad component... Refrigerator should defrost every 8 hours. when the cycle slows or quits the freezer will freeze over the evaporator coil and no air flow = no cold air...

Sounds like the defrost system is not functioning properly. There are a lot of possibilities -- probably ought to call service unless you have significant experience with appliance repair.

Sub zero refrig - ice forming inside

The solution posted previously is TOTALLY WRONG. A Sub Zero ref doesn't have a heating element in the fresh food section. Only in the Frozen food section. It has 2 totally separate systems for each section. 2 Compressors and 2 evaporators. They share a condenser. If you are having ice build up in the refrigerator then the problem you are having is a refrigerant leak in the fresh food evaporator. You need to have a certified tech come out and replace the evaporator in your refrigerator section of your Sub Zero. Not sure what you are asking about the thermostat.

Water always inside refrigerator sometimes ice forms

Sounds like you might have a condensation problem. Is the fan in your freezer working? If not it's not circulating the cold air. If it is you might have frost on the lower rear wall of your freezer meaning its not defrosting like it should and restricting your air flow. Last but not least you have a damper door in the upper left corner of your fridge that allows the cold air from your freezer into the fridge to cool it, that might not be opening up. Any one of these things would cause your water problem and a warm fridge section
