You television is having problems with intermittent component failure. The reason the television turns off and on is the protection circuit turns on when it senses high voltage or current level that may damage the internal circuits. The protection circuit turn the television off, the television will stay in this condition until the faulty component or components temporarily stabilize. When this happens the television attempts to turn itself on again. Once the component or components heats up it loses tolerances and again triggers the protection circuit to turn the television off. This is a problem that should be fully tested and evaluated by a certified service center. If the front panel lock is on, you will need a working original remote (or a universal remote properly programmed for RCA) to turn the set on. The IR receiver is next to the buttons on the fromt but the RCA IR receivers are very reliable, and I have yet to see a bad one in a modern RCA TV. Once you turn the set on by remote, you can enter the menu and turn the FPA off.
