Hoover HFOE54B fridge ice box door catch does not close properly.

Just had this fridge delivered & wondered if the ice box seal only works once the fridge is running? The door catch seems very flimsy & does not stay closed. We're waiting 2 hours before turning device on as advised. Will be calling Hoover repair if no one knows.

SOURCE: Door not closing properly.

take door off and pack bottom hinge with washers. make sure hingebrackets on cabinet are tight. however, door hanging a bit should not really affect sealing. if seal is gapping, one solution is to warm with a hairdryer and pull outwards gently

SOURCE: My whirlpool Refrigerator motor keeps running

Keep an eye on the running time and temparture of the refrigerator. It will need time to return to normal cooling temps since the defrost and hot temps inside will take maybe a few more hours to reach normal. If not, get back with me and I will go through a step by step process on eliminations,  If so I will need age of fridge, Make and Models Numbers, Thanks Sea Breeze

SOURCE: sub-zero 500 series refrigerator door wont stay closed

If Your Refrigerator's Freezer Door Pops Open When You Close the Fresh Food Door... If a 'top-freezer' refrigerator's freezer door pops open when the larger fresh food door's closed, it's actually a good thing. That tells us the seals are in great shape, sealing well.
Some freezer door 'pop' is unavoidable bc the bottom door's so much larger than the top one and the hydraulic effect of compressing all that air kicks in. The two compartments share the same air via a duct between them, and that compressed air rushes up into the freezer compartment and can 'pop' the door.
To improve the situation, apply a few drops of oil (sewing machine oil or 'three in one' - NOT WD-40) to each freezer door hinge pin. (Even better: if you can, pull the doors and coat the hinge pins with petroleum jelly). This will help the freezer door swing back closed by itself. The freezer door usually stays ajar because it's binding a bit, and that's usually caused by it's swinging 'dry', with no lubrication.
It’s also a good idea to ‘kick’ the habit of letting the refrig door close hard.

SOURCE: freezer door wont seal and stay closed

Your pushing air from the fridge part over to the freezer door when you clos it,the only thing i can suggest is make sure that the seal (which is magnetic) is clean and not falling apart, inspect it all around the door, and when closing the door i would close it gently.

Hope this helped.Let me know by rating me or

SOURCE: Refrigerator Door won't stay closed

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Part 12 on this diagram is your cam. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=KSRB27FHSS02&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=0593&modelName=SIDE-BY-SIDE-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00006&componentDescription=REFRIGERATOR%20DOOR&documentId=O2030395&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

Westinghouse wse6100sa side by side fridge. Freezer not cold enough

Check to see that the fridge is level and the doors are properly aligned and closing properly.
If the door hinges are not set properly, the door will not close properly and there will be an air leak around the seals.
If this happens, the fridge will run continuously and all the stuff in your vegetable bin will keep freezing

Why does it keep beeping even though the doors are closed?

  1. Check to see if the fridge and the freezer are overfilled Over-stuffing in the freezer or the fridge or both of these compartments will prevent the doors from closing properly and which can cause the fridge's to set off the beeping alarm.
  2. Check the fridge door seals: Broken or damaged door seals may stop the fridge from closing all the way. This can also happen if the seals are dirty. Wipe clean the door seals with a soft cloth and warm and use soapy water and close the fridge doors. If the door still appears ajar then you have to replace the door seals. It is also quite possible that the inbuilt door-alarm which sets off if the fridge door is ajar for more than a few minutes has gone bad . This would need to be looked at by a qualified repair person . Until, you can call a repair person transfer all the food items to another cool place.
  3. Check the fridge balance: To work correctly the fridge must be placed on a levelled surface. Even a slight tilt in the fridge structure can set off the beeping alarm. Check to see if the fridge is balanced evenly.
  4. Check to see if the fridge exterior is warmer than usual: Check if there is adequate distance between the fridge and walls to allow for proper ventilation. If you have already ensured this and the fridge exterior still appears warmer than usual, have an appliance engineer to take look at the problem. If the beeping continues, switch-off the fridge.
  5. Check the freezer: If your fridge does not have an auto-defrost function then excessive ice-build up in the freezer can cause the beeping alarm to go off . If you see a lot of ice build-up in the icebox or freezer, switch off the fridge and let the ice thaw. Once the fridge is thawed, the beeping should stop.
  6. Have a repair person check the circuit board: It is possible that there is an issue with the appliance's circuit board. If so it will most likely need replacement.

The door flap on my KitchenAid French Door fridge isn't springing completely back into place, and it's catching on the other door.

Locate and adjust the spring responsible for getting that flap into proper place and all will be resolved.

Drain clogged on MCBR415S

Unless that fridge has an automatic defrosting cycle, NO water should be collecting at the drain area under normal circumstances. The only time that drain is needed is during defrosting (manual or auto).
Does the unit ever turn the cool cycle off or is the fridge always running (does the fridge ever stop humming)? If the fridge is always running, ice will build up in the fridge and it is either because the thermostat is broken or the door is not sealing properly allowing the cold air to escape. This can be due to something inside the fridge is preventing the door from closing properly, the door itself being not properly aligned with the fridge compartment, a broken door seal or a bend door or a bend fridge frame.
Ice can build up fast when a fridge is installed in an area with high humidity (like in Florida) and the door is opened frequently (like every 5 minutes to get a beer out, like during a house party).
If the fridge door seems to seal properly and the fridge seems to keep things cool, it might be enough to defrost the fridge to get it back in proper operating condition.
When loading the fridge, allow enough space between items, to permit the air to circulate.
Good luck :)

My Baumatic larder fridge won't go cold the fan and the compressor is working but the temp won't go below 16 degrees

Check to see if there is ice built up around the door preventing it from closing and sealing properly. This can happen if the door isn't closed all the way at times.

Can I remove the freezer compartment from my Haier HSE12WNAWW?

not possible to remove the freezer
the most likely [problem is that the seals around the freezer door are not sealing properly
that allows the atmosphere into the freezer and the humidity then freezes and turns to ice , causing the problem
adjust the door and change that door seal
when defrosting the freezer, remove all the frozen food, and place a fan at the open door
atmospheric temp air will defrost a badly iced freezer in around 1 hour with the use of the fan on high speed

Icicles forming from melting ice from ice maker

hi this might help you:

*make sure that the seal indeed still seal well enough...
*the older the fridge the more common this is

i don't really know much about this, but just check that it's cold enough inside like check if it changes when you change it from eg 4 to 7, and that the sealing is fine, and that your door is lined out good, also important that last thing offcourse, cause if it seems to shut good, but the seals arent in the right position compared to the other side (the 'fridge-walls' :p) they won't seal ofcourse...

I hope this is useful, and greets.

Ice build up

Check that the door is closing properly otherwise the freezer will be working overtime to cool and ice will form. If the door seal is good, it is possible that the thermostat needs to be checked.
