Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
It says that i need to change my security settings, cause it is not compatible with the wireless network. how do i do that?
You need to set the security on the laptop to the same security on the router,Just open Internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1
Enter the login and password for your router. The default login is blank and the password is admin
go to the security settings and set it up the way you want it,It must be set up the same on the laptop so write down t he settings if you need to.
Then go to the wireless tab at the top and turn on Allow wireless connections

If your wireless router is a linksys, try resetting it. There is a reset button on the rear of the router. Look next to where the ac power cord meets the router, there should be a small, black circle the size of a pen-tip. Press this button when router is turned on. This will reset the router to factory default settings and your router will be in "open" mode meaning anyone can use your router without a password/key. If your laptop get's online after this, you should change the settings to set-up a webkey or password.
