Question about BenQ FP92W LCD Monitor

1 Answer

E207WFPc Dell Monitor goes black after seconds of poweron.

I recent received a E207WFPc Dell Monitor, though it was from a family member. They mentioned it didn't work after someone had visited them, and so I thought I would take a look at it. Immediately after powering on, the power button is still green, but the dell logo, with the default screen stays up for a second before the screen goes black again. When plugged into a laptop or another computer, roughly the same thing, only the power button is yellow. Though I am not sure, It might easily be that someone has changed the contrast and brightness to 0, if that is possible with this monitor, making it hard/impossible to fix. Any ideas on how to make this usable again? I have browsed the Dell website for hours, and their 'user manual' for it is worthless, and dell refuses to help with it.

Okay, so upon digging further, a similar model of monitor seems to display the same issue when capacitors on the power supply blow (aka the cap breaks). I have fully dismantled the LCD monitor and carefully examined the power supply, but oddly enough, no damaged capacitors. I will investigate this hardware issue further, and if I manage to find a working solution, we'll label it the 'extreme repair' approach and hope for other people, something else works before they reach this point.

But, as the monitor doesn't work as is (beyond the 1 second powerup and test screen), no harm will come if I find the damaged part and replace it. Best result, it comes back to life.

The problem you have mentioned may not be due to contrast setting but the LCD itself . Power on the mointor and disconnect the signal cable from the back. if you see a self test box running on the LCD , the LCD is oK . If you donnot see the self test box the LCD is back. Dell doesnot service LCDs and you may need to get in touch with the local repair shop.

I have a Dell SE198WFP Flat Panel Monitor, screen goes black?

The LCd panel may be damaged and will cause this problem.

Another thing is overheating of the GPU.

The LCD signal receiver can be goign on you.

The is also the possibility of a faulty inverter.

Only thing to do is service or replace. Test the unit on another computer, if you don't get the issue there then you know its a problem with the PC.

How to open dell monitor cover model E207WFPc

Remove the Stand, Remove the 4 Screws from behind the spot where the stand connects to, then take a flat ended object such as a butter knife or a sharp knife, and unclip the black face. then the screen comes right apart, this solution is also the same for the 20xx-30xx Dell WFP Models.

Dell 1704 monitor goes to black screen after one

Hi my name is Rain.
Ok so that im clear on the problem. your monitor will come on but in a matter of seconds it goes to a black screen?
If this is the problem. The answers you seek will most likely
be in your video card.
Try this test:
  • Unplug monitor from the computer.
  • Turn on monitor .
  • Look for monitor self test screen.
If you see the monitors self test screen then your problem indeed is
the video card . You will need to replace the video card inside of the computer.
