its extremely simple... when it does that put your hand on the oscollator cover and hold it with light pressure for a couple seconds then let go. it should work

mcdevito75 here, hello ken, I did a fast search and I think www. shop.com can help you out with Marvin air fans, I didn"t find anything on Marvin Air Fans itself. Now about the nose cone covering the nut holding the blade to the fan shaft, most of these nose covers are press fit, see if you can gently pry that nose cover off with a small screwdriver.

Marvin Box Fan Cleaning

It has six phillips-head screws around the perimeter. Loosen all six screws and the halves separate. Be careful loosening the screw that holds the motor in place - I ended up stripping the head. If you can use a vice grip to get it started, that may help.

Do they have a fan in them. If they do then the noise maybe coming from a bent fan blade. If you are mecahanically inclined then I would go into it and see. That would be the only moving part in the thing other than the tip over thing inside. I hope this helps
