You need to check the specs of your laptop to see what is the maxium amount of RAM your laptop can support.
Although you can see one DIMM slot there may be another under the keyboard that already has a DIMM installed.
DIMM are avail in up to 4Gb most common 1Gb and 2Gb.

My computer has no display even my RAM is new,,how to fix this

could be the video cable, video card, motherboard, monitor input settings or monitor hardware failure. start with swapping the monitor cables, then swap the monitor, then look at the video card (see if you can update the driver or swap the video card).

Resolution capabilities are a complicated blend of the abilities of your graphics card and the abilities of your screen. You will not always get a 1:1 match. You can improve your chances by installing the "monitor information" file that is usually supplied on a CD that comes with the monitor. Also, updating the drivers for your graphics card (see the manufacturer's web site) might help.

Look in the BIOS, under the video ram settings. What is the largest RAM it can handle? 128? 256? 512? This will give you an indication as the size of video RAM that you can have on your card.

Hope this helps.

Change ram from 512 to 1 gig bios cannot read added ram

The original 2 sticks of 256 Mb of RAM gives you a total of 512
Mb of RAM. Two 512 Mb of RAM gives you a total of 1 Gb of RAM.
With two sticks of 512 Mb of RAM are you sure you got a total of 192 Mb of RAM, this is a lot less than the original RAM total of 512 Mb?
Should this be 1920 Mb of RAM?
If this 192 Mb is correct then the RAM modules are either not compatible with the laptop or if the RAM modules are not from the same manufacturer then they may not work together.

Most laptops have video cards that use part of the main RAM for video RAM, that is why the available RAM is less than the installed RAM modules. The amount of RAM the video card grabs depends upon the type of video card and in some cases the amount of video RAM can controlled in the BIOS setting.

Game not working due to less video memory

Restart your computer and your friend's computer, at the same time. Press <DEL> to enter BIOS-setup on each computer.
Do both computers show _exactly_ the same amount of RAM?
One BIOS-setting may allow you to "dedicate" some of the RAM to be used for "video-memory". Do both computers show the same amount of "dedicated" RAM?

Trying to connect 3 gig sticks to my p4pe motherboard, only works with 2. also new video card runs at 512mb, in bios it only allows me to select 256 can this be adjusted through update or do i need 256...

Even though there are three sockets, this board supports a max of 2GB of RAM, sorry.
The AGP Aperture setting in the BIOS does not reflect the maximum amount of usable video RAM on the card, so don't be concerned about that (and in fact you shouldn't need that to be higher than 128M).
For the hard drive, you have your terminology mixed up. There are two IDE adapters on your board; A primary and secondary, each with two available assignments for the devices connected which are called 'Master' and 'Slave'. If your primary adapter already has two devices and your secondary has only the DVD drive configured as 'Slave', than you can connect a new drive to the secondary adapter configured as 'Master'.

Hope this helps!
