The fridge and freezer doors on our frigidaire fridge close too quickly when trying to get food out of the fridge. How do I adjust the tension? It's a fridge with the freezer on top.

SOURCE: freezer door rubbing

take the freezer door off and put a washer or two on the bottom hinge. sometimes there are extra plastic washers on the top hinge that you can move to the bottom to lift it up.
also check if the hinge is bent or loose, as this may cause the problem.

SOURCE: Amana ARB2117BW - Bottom Freezer Door Won't Stay Sealed

This problem was posted in the wrong section. My model didn't have it's own, so its in ABB1927DE Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - perhaps you could create a section for it.

As it turns out, I looked more closely at the baskets inside. We had noticed that if the top basket was slid all the way forward when we closed the door that it would close better. So I looked to see if they or the slides were out of alignment. They seemed ok, but then I saw that the way the bottom basket was hanging didn't seem right - it was not quite nestled into it's retainer slot. I took the baskets out and turned the bottom one around. It fit perfectly into it's retainer slot. I then replaced the top one (it was already in correctly) and closed the door. It sealed correctly the first time. I tested it several times after that and it sealed tightly. Closing the top door did not make it unseal as it had done before.

SOURCE: refrigerator door pops open, frigidaire top

The refrigerator needs to be perfectly leveled side to side dn should pitch back slightly. Also look at the plane of the doors, that is to say that they should be squared to the cabinet. If they are sagging, you may need to adjust the hinges.

How to have Hisense Doors stay opne and not self close

Here are some general steps you can try to make the self-closing doors stay open:

Locate the hinge cover on the upper doors of the fridge. This is usually a plastic or metal cover that conceals the hinge mechanism.

Remove the hinge cover by gently prying it off with a flat-head screwdriver or by unscrewing any screws holding it in place.

Look for an adjustable tension screw or tab on the hinge mechanism. This is typically a small metal tab or screw that can be rotated or adjusted.

Use a screwdriver or pliers to adjust the tension screw or tab. Turning it clockwise will usually increase the tension and make the door close more quickly, while turning it counterclockwise will reduce the tension and make the door close more slowly or stay open.

Adjust the tension screw or tab as needed until the door stays open at the desired angle.

Once you have adjusted the tension, replace the hinge cover and test the door to make sure it stays open and closes properly.

Keep in mind that adjusting the tension may affect the performance of the self-closing mechanism, so you may need to adjust it again in the future if you notice any issues. It's also important to be careful when adjusting the hinge mechanism, as improper adjustments could damage the fridge or cause the doors to become unstable

My food in the fridge section is freezing in my Frigidaire fqe6307sae. How do I know if it is the thermostat and how do I adjust the temperature on the display?

I could check the freezer for ice build up. clean the door seals and make sure the freezer isn't overloaded. Too much food or improper sealing of the doors will make the compressor work harder in cooling down the freezer which in turn freezes the fridge part.

good luck

The freezer door opens if the refrigerator door is closed hard

this is quite normal on a lot of fridges ! if it isnt closing again by its self you need to re-level the fridge and have it very slightly backwards . alternatively the fridge is not level side to side !. open the main door a third to halfway open and let it go, it should close under its own weight, if not adjust up on the hinged side leg or down on the opposite side , if the front legs are not not adjustable pull it out and adjust the back legs , a quick fix, is to chock up the front leg and all will be ok ,regards terry ps, clean the seals and the fridge where the seals make contact the seals probably do not need replacing unless the fridge is very very old. a lot of people replace seals when its not needed. regs terry

Food freezes in the fridge part even at the highest

If it is freezing, either you need to turn both temp down to 2nd to lowest setting. Cold air does sink, so that is why crisper gets colder. There is a flap and vent for air between the fridge and freezer. The flap can get stuck in one direction, or the acutator that moves it can become faulty. A leaky door seal will also make the opposite compartment colder.

Top freezer door pops slightly open when frig door is closed

try to adjust hinges and check the door gaskets for pinching. Also I have seen that if the fridge is slightly pitched forward and not slightly towards the back gravity sometimes this causes the problem you describe.
