Battery good, bike dead

Hi there,
this is my first bike....i don't know anything about them. I wasn't having any problems until I left my key on one day for 4 hours and killed the battery. It boosted from truck, I drove home, charged the battery, went for a long drive. Next day, bike was dead again. We tried boosting it from my car, and as soon as we removed the cable, the bike died. A guy looked at it for me and thinks it COULD be the starter but he can't get at it to check it. He says the coolant or something is in the way,and i don't have a service manual. I am crushed right now because I dreamed of owning my own bike by the time I turned 40, as a single mom, I struggled to save the money to get it (just under the "40" deadline, the huge bike fest is in 5 days and my bike is dead!I can't afford to pay someone $80/hr to try to find the problem. Thanks, you are right on the money. We finally had the idea to take a battery out of my friends bike and try it. My bike worked fine. I took the battery back to the dealer got a full refund which I applied toward an upgraded battery. Great site. Thanks!!!

Hey, it looks like the battery is the problem after all. My friend put his battery in my bike ane it started right away! One guy on this site said that because we weren't load testing the battery, it might still show a good charge and that must have been what was happening. This is a wonderful site and I want to thank you for taking the time to help me. I belong to 2 bike groups and will definitely be spreading the word about this site and the link you gave me. Great resources!!

Check out "Thunder in the Highlands" Cape Breton online ..its happening this coming weekend! Hey, it looks like the battery is the problem after all. My friend put his battery in my bike ane it started right away!
