My power head to my rainbow does not pick up as well as it always has. I've checked for blockages - none found. Checked the belt on the bar and replaced it just in case...any suggestions?

Clean or replace the separator under the main motor. Brushroll may be worn and needs to be replaced. Make sure the bottom plate is on correctly by catching the tabs on the front of the head and then fastening.

Have suction but belt not moving

Are you referring to the drive belt on the power head? Remove the power head and try vacuum without it, if it picks up fine, the problem in in the power head/hose assembly, could have a blockage inside the head of the hoses attached to the head. If those are all OK, look for an air leak in the system. at/around the bag, canister, loose clamps, etc.

Rainbow power head dusty

Have you checked the channel from the brush roll area to the hose for blockage? Dust accumulation is usually a sure sign of an obstruction.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
From what you've described in your question, it sounds very likely that you have a blockage somewhere between the cleaner head and the bin. Please follow the steps shown in the video above to locate any obstructions from the cleaner head, and to remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar.
Once you've done this, it's also a good idea to follow the steps shown in our online Support guide for help locating blockages in the internal hose:

Will not vacumn blows dirt

Hi There I would suggest you have a blockage in your head. Turn it over and remove the base plate. I suspect you will have a build up of muck and junk there. Remove it all and check your Rainbow belt while your there.

My dyson dc 14 is not picking up as well as it should, but, suction still very strong when using hose with attachments, have checked belt and have checked for blockages. can any one help please?

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

I would check that the brush bar is turning when you have the cleaner in the vacuuming position. To check this, make sure the brush control dial (on the cleaner head) is in the centre position and when you release the head of the cleaner to vacuum, it should move forward to the "on" position. Lie the machine on its side keeping hands and loose fabrics away from the base, switch it on and see if the brush bar is turning.

If it is, you would need to check the machine through for a blockage and wash the pre filter. To so this, please refer to your user guide or check out www.dyson.com and visit the Support section which has lots of self help information to help resolve this issue.

I hope that this information is useful to you.

Kind regards
Darran

Beater bar not working

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

If the brush control has been switched off the brush bar won't go round when the vacuum cleaner is lowered into the vacuuming position. If this is in the correct position, we would recommend checking the brush bar and cleaner head for blockages as this can prevent the brush bar turning.

If none of the above resolves the problem, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Many thanks

if it sucks your hand onto the tube , the machine is working as a vacuum machine
then check fro a blockage in the elbow section near the head
if there is no vacuum , junk it and get a new one

The suction on my hoover is not as powerful as it was

Is the suction on the hose the same as always? You might want to change the belt. It is not uncommon for belts to stretch out and affect power.

Power head has power but motor won't run

Circuit brealer switch may be bad, but the fact that Rainbow nozzle made this strange sound makes me think that it may have happened because there is something wrong with the motor.

While unplugged - remove the brush and belt. Try turning brush ends - see if they yurn easily... Try turning the motor shaft - see if it turns and if it does - if it turns smoothly and if makes any strange sounds...

To really test the motor you can just bypass the circuit breaker switch.
