Feed signal from the throttle sensor i would think to be the problem this reads the input for the engine speed and, it could be the sensor or the connection to the gearbox control unit. as its still getting a signal but its reduced, check and clean the connections,

sounds like the syncromesh has gone in the gearbox. If you dont want them to grind, you,ll have to double declutch. I f you cant do this, get a new gearbox.

check all vacuum starting at the pump on these mpodels and see if you are getting around 29" of vacuum. if you are not this is your issue. it sounds like it is doing it mechanically and not assisted. this is a very good way to destroy your transmission. it is very possible that you have a leak somewhere else in the system causing a vacuum leak. i am guessing all your door locks do not work.email me at [email protected]

remove your shifter and check the plastic bushing at the bottom tip of it. Replace if worn, if ok it may be a trans problem!!

there is still air in the system, keep pumping it will eventually come out. if it has a bleeder try that
