Question about NRS Hoveround MPV 4 - Hovaround Used Electric Wheelchair

Batteries went dead and will not recharge after unit was stored in hot car for over a week.Outside temperature was over 105 degrees. One single red light comes on after charging for four hours.

Try charging for at least 12 hours. If still nothing have the batteries tested with a load tester.

Why is there a red blinking light on outside sensor? This is only 2 weeks old and new batteries were put in then.


The red blinking light, I believe is indicating the outside sensor is transmitting the outside temperature data to main weather station unit.

A/c blowing hot air with low pressure


The first thing to do would be go to your local auto parts store and buy an air conditioning recharge kit. Provided your vehicle isn't too old, they sell recharge kits that require no tools.

If their is a leak anywhere while you recharge, you will know.

Try recharging the air conditioning first, it is very simple and the kits come with simple instructions.

If there are no leaks, your A\C will blow cold air again. As for the pressure, if it continues to slightly blow air you may be looking at a new air compressor unit or a vaccum line. A new unit will run you anywhere from $200-$2000 dollars plus labor depending on the vehicle.

If the recharge works, at least you will have slightly blowing cold air rather than hot and you can continue that way until the unit fails.

Skytech receiver batteries keep going dead


Joe,

The heat from the fireplace can have an adverse effect on the life of the batteries. Sometimes simply re-positioning the receiver to a cooler location under the firebox and/or adding a heat-shield can improve battery performance with the Skytech remote receivers.
As a test, you could even place the receiver outside the fireplace for a period of time to gauge the effect of heat on the unit.


According to the owner's manual for the Skytech 3301 Thermostat Remote:


"For REMOTE RECEIVERS that operate on BATTERY POWER, these heat conditions can cause batteries to discharge when temperatures exceed 115 degrees F. Studies show that alkaline batteries, when exposed to a constant temperature of 120 degrees F, can lose up to 50% of their operating power. When the battery cools down, it will partially recharge itself, but constant heating and cooling will reduce the battery's normal life expectancy."

My Magellan Roadmate 1400 will not turn on. It has been cold (20-30 degrees F) and not used for a week. I charged it all day but it still will not turn-on.


I can think of two reasons for the failure
  • If you're unlucky, the low temperature might have killed the battery. As far as I know, the type of battery used in Magellan devices is Lithium-Polymer. They contain a gel electrolyte. LiPo batteries are sensitive to low temperatures, cooling them below 0°C/32°F may render them dead. Replacement batteries are available, e.g. from HERE. The web site also offers a video on how to do the repair.
  • When you brought in the device from the cool place, water may have condensed inside.
I'd recommend to store the device in a warm (not hot, the batteries also don't like temperatures above 60°C/140°F) and dry place for a one or two days and see if the problem goes away. If no, you can still go for a replacement battery.

While on vacation our Sienna sat for one week at the airport. When we got back, it was dead. The thermometer to read outside temperatures is reading 14 degrees too hot. Any suggestions?


after a battery dies it is not uncommon to have to reprogram many computers

however, maybe the computer that controls the temperature reading is not going to "sleep" which then caused the battery drain

regardless, no open recalls or TSB's on this subject

Amcor 10,000BTU set at 64 degrees - - temperature of air coming out of unit is 72 degrees. In one and half hour set at 64 degrees the room temp only went from 90 degrees to 84 degrees. Recommendations?...


I am not sure, i have a similiar unit that is brand new, seems like a faulty mechanism from the maker, it starts cold for about 2-3 minutes and then shuts down condenser and blows hot air repeating this cycle. I don't believe it ias a recharge, just a faulty machine

i recommend tinting your windows,this will help a lot!also,make sure that they have all the coding in the aac control unit correct,make sure the have it set to hot countries,100 percent
recirculated air possible and that theres no positive temperature adjustment(ie-could be coded to blow a few degrees warmer than you,the customer,actually sets it)

Lp600 went dead


i had the same problem with my 2 years old infocus lp600. on the mains section of the power supply board you have 4 100uF/16v and 1 4,7uF/35V electrolyt condenser of a 85 degree type. that means it will work 2000 hours at 85 degree (celsius). since the power supply only switch off the lamp in standby with no fan the power supply get hot- i think about 70 degree. so after two years in stanby it is evident that this condensers loose halve of their capacity - after switch off no new start. changing this condensers with new ones of 105 degree type will solve tis problem. and for the future - no more stanby.
