Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

Was playing COD 5 and then after a game was over, went to switch to the next map and it just said Loading... Loading... With the COD logo saying loading. It never loaded, so I waited waited, then had to manually turn off the PS3 by shutting it down with the switch in the back, holding the power Button wouldn't work. Now it freezes when I try to load COD5 sometimes, or COD4 will just load to the main screen then restart the PS3, GTA works just fine, loads and I can play it, the only games that won't work are any of the COD 3, 4, or 5. I also would get an error could not load game ERROR. Any suggestions? Is it the BluRay Lens or HardDrive mess up? I cleaned the lens after I experience all of this and there was really no dust in there. ALSO... After I had cleaned the PS3 I thought all was good, it was working like normal again, then out of the blue once again the other day it started freezing when switching to a new MAP, just said Loading, at the bottom Right hand corner like it does normally on the game, but not for this long. And If I listened closely I could hear a CLicking, almost as if the lens was trying to read the disc but it wouldn't.

Well, it must be a problem with your game files, because most loading processes are done by the Installed game files .
if other blu-ray games are running well, i guess you don't need to worry about the lens .

please try:

  • Reinstalling all your game data files
  • Reupdating your system firmware via USB Device (download the update from Playstation Website)
  • Restoring your system (don't forget to backup all your important files !!)
else, contact Sony support centre for possible hardware issues checking (i belive there isn't anything wrong with your ram or gpu units....)

Cant play cod ghosts onslaught maps

You must make sure your PS3 is activated for your game DL's. Here is how to do it. At the XMB, sign in to PSN. When you do, a tab will open up that says account management. Scroll down to System activation. There, you can select to activate/deactivate your system and PSP for games and DLC content.

I down loadedthe cod ghosts onslaught maps but cant play them why

You must activate your system first. Here are the steps.
1 power on
2 log into the system
3 sign in to psn
4 Account Management
5 System Activation
6 PS3 System
7 Games and videos
Remember, SCEA only allows (2) systems to be activated under the same account. So even if you had 3 systems in your house, you can only activate 2. After your system is activated, then you can enjoy your new maps. ^^ P.S. As of this writing, "DEVASTATION" will be released for the PS3 TOMORROW!

MAP PACK 2 NOT LOADING

Hello,
If you purchased the map pack, you still have to download it. This may take a while, since that particular map pack is 2.4 GB, which takes about 20 minutes to load. When that is done downloading, restart the game. If you don't, the game will play as if you didn't load the map pack. Remember to do that after you download the map pack.

Hope that helps. Good luck!!!

Can't down load cod 5 map pack 3. Is it licensed in Ireland

Try this and see if it works....Go to XboxLive.com and log in using your email address and password. Once you are logged in go to the XboxLive Marketplace. There should be a drop down menu to the left of the page that says "change department" click on the arrow and go to game add ons and click on it. Call of Duty should be on the first row of games that pop up. Click on it and then go to map pack 3 and click the green button that says download to xbox 360. It should then send it to the download tab on your 360. The computer is a diffrent ISP address so it may have some bearing or it may not. I googled your problem and alot of people have your problem in diffrent regions and they had luck with this solution. If it doesn't work I will try to research some more for you.

PS3-COD WOW - map pack taking longtime loading it has already been 5 days and only at 33% any suggestions

The download is obviously either slowed, or frozen. Try these steps to get it going again.
Be sure you are still connected to the internet. If you are, try restarting your console. Also try logging in and out to restart the download. If this doesn't help, go into where the game files are kept and delete the COD5 directory. This will remove all the files for the game on your console (EXCEPT SAVED GAMES - these are connected with your id). After you load up the game, you will need to do a fresh install of all updates and map packs.
Hope this helps!

My xbox 360 cant download map pack 1 for cod 5

If your gamertag was created in another location and you are trying to download map pack for COD and it doesnt work that means that the map pack is only for the united states and canada. you wont be able to download it if your gamertag is registered ( For Example germany, India, Australia )

Some Marketplace contents have license that can be accessed by united states and canadian residents only.

I have a ps3 and it will play any other games but cod 5

This is a tough one to diagnose, I'd recommend trying to clean the blu-ray drive with a cd / dvd cleaner cd.

Try this first, since it's easy to do and we'll go from there.
