My olympus tough tg-310 got wet inside with salt water form the beach now it won't turn on please help.

There is very little that can be done, salt water will corrode metal on contact, all eletronic parts have been compromised, if the memory card is still intact save your pictures and remove it from the camera to transfer to new hardware. Replacing the camera unfortuneately is the only option.

I have a Fuji finepix j38. I went on the beach and it got a little wet and it wrote zoom error and now it isn't charging either.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Having a "zoom error" message is a camera malfunction, in this issue you can try to turn off and then turn it on again but this time you have to take care not to touch the camera lens or try not to blocked the camera lens while retrackting. If you still have the same issue you can try to visit this site for some steps you can do before sending your camera to your Fujifilm center.

In regards your issue about the charging of your battery,as you said before that you bought your camera to the beach. Try to clean the terminals with soft and dry cloth. Also, possible that the battery has reached the ends of its charging life. Purchase a new battery. If the battery still fails to charged, you have to contact your Fujifilm center.

Please let me know if you have any question.

Thank you for using Fixya.

The camera is supposed to be waterproof but got wet on the beach, it will not work now. Any ideas? Cannot return to Amazon for replacement as travelling in Indonesia.

Open the casing and mop dry the trapped water, allow atmospheric air to dry the component and couple it. It will start working after an hour.

Problem with M340 Kodak easy share digital camera..( automaticall

I had the same problem after a day at the beach. What I did was get a can of compressed air (from the computer section) and blow air around the lens as I repeatedly turned it on. It took about five cycles, but I eventually cleared whatever was preventing the lens from fully opening.

Good luck.

Power shuts off on its own

Yes the beach, two of camera worst enemies, water and sand. The camera should be taken apart to check for sand and water damage. Camera that are even exposed to air around salt water will develop problems.

I think I have sand in my casio casing. The pictures are sometimes blury and the zoom doesnt always go in and out. We took it to the beach, and well...... Is a Casio Elilim ex-s600. Do you know how I...

You will not be able to clean out the sand yourself. The sand probably got in to the mechanics of the lens and other moving parts.

The inside of the lens is made like a watch, and is very precision for calibration. Once you open up your camera and especialy the lens, I have doubts it will ever work again!

Servicing the camera may not be cost effective. You can enquire to Casio to see what they would charge for this type of service. I would think it would be more feasible to replace the camera.

If you want to take a camera to a beach, make sure it is in a sealed containment. The water vapour, any salt spray, sand, and or sand dust will certainly cause damage to even the most expensive cameras!
