Go to www.laars.com and download a manual for your model. Get the model number from the heater, and look up a manual. If yours is a milivolt model, the pilot must be working to troubleshoot further. The manuals will be full of information.

Laars is now part of the Jandy Corp. I'm sure that is where I found it last I needed it. It is a good place to start
Here is an exploded view. Open the Front panel and you will see a red knob with instructions by it. Press and hold down when you turn it to pilot. The pilot is located down and to your right ( where you light it) hold for 10 seconds then turn to on.
