Cracked housing for oil drain plug

Are you telling me there is a piece of the enging casing now missing?

This is a long shot. You may be able to find someone to braze a patch over the hole, redrill and retap a hole for the drain plug. You will have to find a friend with equipment and skills to do this. I dont think a pro shop would do this, too much risk and too much $ on your 30 year old Yamaha. Even after yo have repaired this lower case, there may be other problems with the engine.

try fitting a flat rubber gasket on the plug before fitting. It is possible the there was one on it but it fell off unnoticed or was cracked and broke off.

If this is the same thing my uncle had, i do believe there is actually a debris deflection guard on the front of the oil pan, which you would have to remove to access the oil drain plug

Can u please tell me where the oil drain plug is on my 04 harley super glide?? thank u

Engine, primary, or transmission? Primary case drain is on the left side at rear lower part of primary case. Can be an allen or a star nut. Transmission drain is on the right side, under transmission. Engine will also be on right side just forward of the transmission drain, a little left or right. Also some H-D's have a drain hose from the oil tank that has a plug in it. If it has one of these, it will be hanging on the right side of the bike back by the tank.

Sir, Is there a drain plug at the base of the pump? I have a strong leak around where the "broken" drain plug is permitting water to leak around the threads in the housing--is this possible? Please...

Not too familiar with that exact pump, but pretty much all pumps have a drain plug on the front or side of the pot, and also in the impeller housing. these allow pumps to be drained for winter storage to prevent freezing. you should be able to get a replacement from the local pool supply store. there should also be an o-ring that actually allows the plug to seal. sometimes you can replaces this sometimes it's just easier to replace the whole plug
