Camera (power shot A630) will not take picture

Camera will not "click" for picture on most settings... only works on a couple. It sets up to take picture...(flash comes on...visible on screen...but it doesn't focus in) but it will not "click" for photo. FRUSTRATED.I use auto, portrait and program the most but it will NOT take the picture.

Did you have the camera exposed to a damp place for a duration like over night or a cold place and brought it in a warm place where it would fog up the lenses unnoticeably

    Posibly? You mean yea?

Dry Nitrogen! Get a large jar that has a sealed screw top that the camera will sit in make two valve air tight tube connections one for a vacuum pull down and then shut off and the other to purge the vacuum bottle with nitrogen gas. Purge slowly not to sudden

Fot the vac ust the food storrage machine and a small bottle of compressed nitrogen Not Nitrous Oxide just straight nitrogen this will defog any moisture not remove dirt

I have a Cannon Power Shot A630 camera but I need a download that will work the camera on a HP computer with Microsoft Vista. Where/how do I get the operating download?

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

White Exposure when shot

you say.. "used to" does that mean it doesn't do it now?

overexposure is caused by setting the wrong ASA ( film speed) oon digital you set the ISO which is the digital equivalent.

GO TO MENU and set ISO to auto and WB (White balance to auto) EX(IT

See if that imoroves the outcome.

some ISO settings in models akllow individual selections of numerical values for different lighting.
ISO 64, 120, 250, 500, 1000. etc

1000 is for very low light (fast film ) 64 is for brighter conditions like average daylight

How come My camera says m memory card is full ony after only taking 3 pictures

Your camera is an 8.0 megapixel camera, which means on the highest and largest settings, the average size of your photos will be 3.5 megabytes. That means only about 3-4 shots on a 16 mb card, which was probably the size included with your camera.

The settings I would recommend for normal, everyday picture taking would be Medium 3 Superfine or Medium 2 Superfine. These will print out on 4x6 very nicely. But on a 16 mb card, you will still only get 9-14 shots.

I would also recommend getting a larger storage card. You can get a 4 gb card for less than $20 and that will get you well over 500 shots before having to clear the card.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

I'd like to transfer pictures from my Power Shot A630 to my computer. How can I do that (without having the softward disk that came with my camera)

Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

Power Shot A630 does not tell how to get the pictrues in the comp

hi there!

.in ur power shot search for a small compartment that holds a tiny rectangular shaped MEMORY CARD.
.remove the card and stick it into a card reader(a narrow slot) that is connected to your computer.
.next goto Start -> Accessories -> Scanner and Camera Wizard
.Choose pictures and move all the pictures into one folder on your computer.

A630 clicks and wont take picture. Stays in preview mode.

Do you mean you are expecting it to show the photo that you just took for a few seconds before it goes back to preview mode? There's a menu setting which I think is called "Picture Review" and you can set it for something like 0, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, something like that.

I hope that was it.
