My Viking 1+ machine will not recognize the snap in cards which don't have a tab in the bottom-most position.... any other cards retain the "A" card programming.

I just found this response, I have long since fixed the problem. There was a tiny plastic tidbit about the size of the head of a pin, broken from the corner of a snap-in card, when I picked it out the cards snap in just fine.

I have a Viking #1 plus. When I put in Card #21 the key pad only beeps? What do I do to fix it?

Possibly bad card. If other cards work, its a bad card. Not really anyway to fix the card as far as I know.
Sorry, I don't have more encouraging news.

Where do I GET the blank disk for this machine

Does the machine use an ATA PC card, or a memory card and card reader.

ATA PC cards are sold with electronics and computer supplies.

The memory card has to be compatible with both the card reader and the format of the embroidery machine. These are sold at places such as Allbrands online or at the Viking dealer.

I have a windows XP computer and I am trying to get to read r/w

Being as you have xp looks like you will have to go to viking site and download a patch to make it compatable, I have a Janome and when we upgraded the computer I had to go to the janome site and download upgrade, the same would apply to the customizing software I would think.

I have a viking 980. The decorative stitching does not work. I have no manual. Can any one tell me how to use these stitches. I think I may have just forgotten what to do.....:( Thanks! ChampionChicka

If the decorative stitches you are talking about are on the card that you insert into the machine, the problem can be that the sensor is not seeing the white squares on the bottom of the card itself. Take white paint or a white out liquid paper and "paint" the white squares at the bottom of the card but only the white squares. That will help the sensors "see" which card you have inserted. If that doesn't do it, your sensors are bad and they are not available. Make sure the paint is dry before you put the card back into the machine.

you cannot convert a #'d embrodiery card collection to areadable/writeable card. If it has like #2 or #3 etc. on it, it's a read only card.

#1 Viking Embroidery #13 Set.

Use any card that has the On/Off in the bottom right og the card (1). You have to know what number is you design so you can push that number after selecting on/off. Make sure you programmed emb card is in the machine. You can use another card if you do not have the generic numbered card with on/off and the hoop positioning E on the right side of the numbers 1 to 35 designs.

Finding affordable Box and Card that will work with Viking 1+

You will need a keypad card that goes along with one of the original Husqvarna embroidery cards. This keypad gives you the controls for using the embroidery unit and selecting your designs.
