Question about Brother 929D Mechanical Sewing Machine
Hi, I have an Elna 744 serger that I bought lightly used and was in good working order. I used it once to try out all the different stitches with no problems. Now, the second time I've tried to use it the cutters won't cut. I've tried cleaning the cutters with a brush, engaging and disengaging the movable cutters, even changing to a new movable cutter (even though the one it had one was fine). I need help figuring out why my cutters aren't cutting!
I just had this problem and was struggling with it for hours. I switched the top blade, and checked the settings many times. Finally I removed the saddle, and saw that the blades weren't meeting -- that's a crucial thing. I just had to fiddle with the blade dial a bit to get it to pop into place. hopefully it will help someone at some point :)

Is there lint or thread caught between blades preventing them from meeting?
