Question about Hampton Bay AC414-LRU 52'' Kemper Collection Rustic Finish Ceiling Fan
My hampton bay ceiling fan is currently connected to a dimmer and it has a remote. im wondering if having it connected this way would cause the fan to only work at half speed
Check your owners manual to see if they recommend against using a dimmer switch not included by the manufacturer.
I have one about 6 years old and I originally installed a dimmer switch. It reduced the speed and was very noisy.
Removed it and all is well.

Yes, if the hot wire going up to the fan is coming off the dimmer, it is reduced voltage and will slow down. There maybe a separate hot from another switch??
