Intermittently won't "flame on"

When you can hear the flame ignite, then everything seems ok.

My flame keeps going out. i can press the reset button and some times it will work for a week sometimes only 30 seconds. It is an intermittent igniter. The flame seems to "roll back" when it...

Your GMS unit should not be intermittent ignition but direct electronic ignition. In any case the flame should never roll out of the chamber. There can be a few reasons for the roll out but sometimes a good cleaning of the heat exchanger and a combustion analysis can cure that. The intermittent flame issue is probably a dirty flame sensor and can be cleaned with light sand paper or steel wool. Be careful not to touch the igniter only the flame sensor. It is usually on the opposite side of the burners from the ignition source. Hope this helps :)

Check and adjust igniter probe(s) so that they are in front of the flame good. When you say it goes to re-ignite, can you hear, or see spark happening at igniter, but burner just won't catch?

Raypack pool/spa heater works intermittently

You can try pulling your pilot assembly out and clean it. Sometimes it will get sooted up and cause the sensor to short so the heater get's a falce reading and shuts the heater down. Then sometimes the heater will start and sometimes it won't. If this dosen't help check the ignition wire for any cracks or anyplace it may be shorting. Good luck.

Protherm 100EC boiler not firing up

You likely have a flame sensor problem.

If you can wath the ignition proccess, see if you ever notice a flame. If yes, and it then shuts downm, you have a flame sensor failure, replace the sensor and clean the flame burners and orifices.

If no flame at all, then your ignitor is failing, or you are not gatting gas to the ignitor.

Gas dryer don't heat, pilot ok

The ignitor is coming on so that means you have power to the gas assembly. Next the flame sensor should shut down the ignitor when the bi-metal inside it bends from the heat. This kills power to the ignitor, which allows for the power to activate the coils. The coils snatch open the gas valve and allow for ignition. The raw gas hits that screaming hot ignitor and ignites into a glorious flame, raising the temperature inside the drum. While that flame is on, the control thermostat is monitoring the heat within the drum. When the temperature gets to a round 140 F then the power gets killed to the gas assembly by the control thermostat. If all of that seems to be happening for say, the first time, then suddenly the ignitor comes on then shuts down and no flame comes out, then you have weak and intermittant coils. My bosch 21E (infinity style) hot water system has an intermittant fault where the flame does not appear to be able to stay on (or properly light). Once water is started to the unit I can hear the ignitor...

moisture is getting into circuit board, usaully this sealed in a jell which keeps the board protected from any kind off dust, moisture etc which would comprimise the thinking side off the unit. a bosch engineer should be able to do a diagnostics on site.
