I loaned my Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop to my niece and she put a password on bios! I don't know what she was into bios for anyway! I called Dell and they wanted me to spend $69.00 to re-new warranty!...

For $20 Unlockbiosrecovery.com will supply you with the Dell master password to clear any bios password set. For your model enter 3 wrong passwords and you will get a system disabled message with a 5 digit error code. tech97.jpg That 5 digit error code is what you need to submit at http://unlockbiosrecovery.com/Unlock_Dell_Bios.php
They guarantee it to work or your money back.

My Dell inspiron 1501 went to a blue screen and gives me an error message when reading the Hard Drive upon boot up. I am told the disk is either malfuntioning on logic or may have crashed. How can I find...

fortunately dell has built in diagnostics that can assist you with identifying the problem. here is a link on how to run them. if the drive is bad then you would need to replace it and reinstall windows and drivers. if it is good then run memory diagnostics as well just to be safe. if both pass then you may have to do a destructive reinstall of windows because you most likely have a virus issue. copy and paste this link into your browser it will help you run the diagnostics.

Error code 3600:0749 battery will not charge

-check the system battery information and charger information of the computer; restart the computer, while the computer is booting up, press F2 repeatedly; check "battery info"
-if it stated ac adapter = unknown device ; update the BIOS (-visit support.dell.com
-click on drivers and downloads
-click or choose by service tag
-download the BIOS and install it on the computer)
-check information after updating; if same message AC adapter = unknown device; call manufaturer for a replacement AC adapter, if status has changed it is a battery problem or motherboard, contact manufacturer to test battery

I had the battery not recognized on boot up. then

the Dell AC adapter has a sensing pin so the bios can determine the wattage of the adapter. If the system cannot ID the adapter, the battery charger circuit is disabled. You'll need a functional DELL ac adapter to get the battery to charge

Dell Inspiron 1501 won't boot

The initial Dell Screen you see at the begining is your BIOS access. Push F12 repeatedly when you see this screen and it will take you into a system restore mode. It will let you boot from CD first (which your PC is not set up for). You should be able to start the CD fine from there.
