Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 Full Version OEM for PC

2 Answers

I am unable to get my Windows XP Pro SP3 machine to detect either my external fireware drive or my Sony camcorder. It worked fine for years and suddenly w/o warning, it no longer works. I have applied every M$ hotfix and it's made no difference. I would be grateful for any help.

IT might be that your USb ports are not working, So you can try to uninstall USB ports from device manager and restart your system and see if it works

You can check to use any other USB device as well

At a time just try a Single usb device to your computer.

Or you can uninstall the softwares for you camcorder firsta nd than reinstall it and see if it works.

Download OS Cd for emachines E728

which operating system??????
try downloading the operating system again

SP3 is the third and final service pack released for Microsoft Windows XP, and it eliminates many of the security holes that previously affected XP. While Microsoft recommends that users download SP3 using Windows Update, some users are unable to do so. However, it's easy to create a Windows XP SP3 installation CD; it requires only that you download the pack from the website and burn it to a CD-R/DVD-R using an ISO burner program.
Download the SP3 installation ISO by visiting the first link listed in the "Resources" section of this article. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." Navigate to your Desktop and select the SP3 ISO file. Click "Open." Click the blue "ISO to CD" button located on the bottom left of ImgBurn. The program will begin creating the Windows XP SP3 installation CD. This process may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete depending on the speed at which the CD-R/DVD-R is being burned. Click "OK" once the CD-R/DVD-R has finished burning. You've successfully created a Windows XP SP3 installation CD.

Seagate Expansion 1TB external Desktop Hard Drive (9sf2A4-500) not detected.

Claire,

Have you tried connecting the drive to another computer using Windows 7 or later. You could try chkdisk /f at a command prompt or get the testdisk app to identify deeper issues with the drive.

Windows XP does not have built in SATA drivers. You will need to download the XP drivers from Western Digital's website and install before the computer will allow you to format and use your new drive. Hope this helps.
