Have you tried uninstalling/re-installing the driver? If not, try that and see if the device would connect to the access point or network.

If you're using the WZC (Wireless Zero Configuration) of the computer, you may want to stop and then start it again.

To stop/start the WZC:

1. Start > Run > type services.msc > hit Enter.
2. Locate and highlight the WZC by clicking on it.
3. Right-click it and there should be an option to stop it
4. Once it stop, right-click on it again and then select Start.

Hope this helps and have a great day!

Cant find a strong enough connection

You need to buy a Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander to boost the signal
  • Move your wireless router to a central location in your network, keeping in mind that the router should be at waist level at the very least, not on the ground.

  • Plug in the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander in the room where your wireless router is. You'll move the range expander later, but for setup purposes, it should be in the same location as your wireless router.
  • Press the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander's "Auto Configuration" button for five seconds, which will allow the range expander to detect your wireless network and configure itself with the appropriate settings.
  • Unplug the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander and relocate it to a location closer to the Xbox 360.
  • Ensure that the antenna for the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander is pointing upward, and keep in mind that the higher the range expander is placed, the better performance you will get out of it.
  • Plug the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander back in, and your wireless network should have a much greater range, ensuring that your Xbox 360 is able to maintain a good connection to the network.

Using Win 2000 on a laptop, Notebook adapter WPC54GV3 and a wireless-G Linksys router and up to date driver. Will not connect, inactive adapter.Do you have a solution ?

It says the adapter is inactive. That means the adapter is not detected by the Linksys utility. Try to unplug the adapter and plug it back in. and restart the computer. now check if iot says active. If not then open the device manager and check if you can see the adapter there. If not then the adapter is not detected by the computer.
Try to uninstall the adapter and reinstall it. Make sure that you have the CD of the adapter before you will uninstall it.

    Wireless connection

plug the computer into the router with a data cable. open browser and type in 192.168.0.1 or perhaps 192.168.1.1 -- when the router displays it will ask for a password. if you had one and can't remember it do a hard reset to return to factory settings. then log into it leaving the username blank with the default factory password. many times that password is admin -- download the owner's manual that will have the default password and instructions and explanations for the settings, including how to do a "hard, factory" reset for free at the manufacturer's website. try the help, support, or download sections. the drivers are there too.

My lap top connecting to my wireless system.

Your computer is not yet connected to the wireless network of the router. Also, make sure that your wireless computer has a wireless adapter installed on it. You may verify it on the Device Manager. If you're using a laptop with built in wireless adapter , make sure that the switch for the wireless connection is on so that it will detect the signal of the router.

Try configuring or verifying the wireless settings of the router first by following the steps on this link:
    http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4585&p_created=1165894972&p_sid=RY2yXS3j&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTAwNiZwX3Byb2RzPTAmcF9jYXRzPTE3MjEsMTcyMyZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PTIuMTcyMyZwX3NjZl9sYW5nPTEmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD13aXJlbGVzcyBzZWN1cml0eQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1

After configuring or verifying the wireless settings of the router, connect your wireless computer by following the steps on this link:
    http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4055&p_created=1160185039&p_sid=RY2yXS3j&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTAyNSZwX3Byb2RzPTAmcF9jYXRzPTE3MjEsMTcyMyZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PTIuMTcyMyZwX3NjZl9sYW5nPTEmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1jb25uZWN0aW5n&p_li=&p_topview=1

If you cannot still connect wirelessly, let me know of the following:
    - model number of the router
    - operating system of the computer
    - wireless adapter installed on the computer (built in or external)
    - brand of wireless adapter installed
    - wireless settings of the router (SSID, wireless security)

HP dv1000 laptop and internal wireless modem

Although you have internal wireless, you are capable of attaching an external wireless device. For example, you could attached a D-Link WUA-1340 USB Wireless G adapter (http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=477), or, if you have a PCI port, you can use a Linksys WPC300N Wireless-N Notebook adapter (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1144763513196&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=1319686869B07). Either device with any brand will work just like your internal wireless. In fact, because you chose to use an external device, you may get a better wireless signal. Because internal wireless devices are inside the computer, it is more difficult to received a signal than with an external device.
