Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

No antenna tv signal

I cannot get my dish network to work on the tv, everything is connected probably. I know the sharp lc-42d62u has 2 integrated receivers, analog and digital. It is only showing TV input and when I choose channel 60 which is set-up for dish it won't work. How can I access the search channel menu without a remote of the TV? Is there any way? I only can change input, volume, power and channels manually. Do you think the antenna input is broken or is it a set-up problem of the TV since I don't have the rem. control?

Your dish remote should be set to the code for your TV. Then you will be able to control the channel number, not just up/down, as well as volume and maybe even the input. But do try to get a real remote for your TV so you can get to its menus.
Meanwhile, use menu+menu to see the channel being output by the Dish receiver. (Must be a 622/722... based on the 60 you listed.) Try to find an unused UHF channel number that your set does have in its up/down list. Match Air/Cable setting of Dish and TV. The Dish output is analog (NTSC) although the tuner(s) only accept digital (ATSC).

TV only detecting channels 2-13 should be detecting 2-63

Go back to the initial set up procedure for your Sharp TV and do a search for active HD channels. They will be decimal numbers such as 13.1.

I have an older Sharp Aquos TV - model # LC-32G4U. I am trying to connect a digital antenna but it doesn't work. Anyone know if I need a separate digital tuner for this TV? Or what else might be t

There is no difference between a "digital" and analog antenna. Either antenna will capture the signal. What you need is a digital converter box to convert the over air digital signal to the older analog type signal your TV needs. You connect the antenna to the digital converter box, and the digital converter box to the TV.
Several years ago, the US government forced peopel to buy digital converter boxes or newer TVs that could pick up the digital signal. Either get a digital converter box or a new TV.

How do I connect an analog antenna to a 32 inch sharp aquos tv? and do I need a specific input setting?

antennas are not analog or digital, just VHF, UHF and they typically connect to a RF coaxial jack on the TVs rear panel. 75ohm silver round jack. Select in your TVs menus, AIR when you want over-the-air TV stations and do a new channel scan to pick up local channels.

Sharp Aquos LC 32G4U not receiving any channels-

Most locations are real hard to get local stations using indoor antennas. If you are in a location where you do not have cable, I would try either a outside antenna on the roof or go with Direct TV Dish / Dish Network system.
I hope this helps,

When plugging in a new PS3 to hdmi input 4 or 5 on the Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U, it is not picking up the connection and I can't select it on the input menu

Does the HDMI output on the PS3 have to be turned on first in its settings? Make sure the settings on the PS3 are at a minimum of 720p as if it is set to 480i the TV probably wont notice anything connected to HDMI.

Help it wont stop changing channel by its self?

Sluger,

Check for a stuck remote button. Take the batteries out of remotes and see if that stops it. If you have Dish Network, let me know.
