I have a Phillips 42PF320A/37 Plasma TV (Chassis # BP2.3U) with red flicker, (see http://www.fixya.com/support/t246142-red_noise_or_flicker_bottom_half_plasma) and thanks to Premtech I've located two defected SMD diodes on the Y-Main Board. The reference designations are D5001 & D0018 and I'm unable to determine either Philips or commercial part numbers for these. They both have the marking F4 over 5J. The board is a Samsung PCB Code LJ41-02759A and Service Manual states that for Service it is a "Black Box" suggesting it's not repairable at component level and calls for board swap. I'd like to try and repair it.
Also, if someone the board schematic it would help me fault isolate associated circuity.

Did some more DVM testing and determined that U5014 is also bad but with no replacement part numbers, I chose to remove the board. I have emailed PTS on Friday for repair quote or replacement board cost and also how to register. Their site keeps redirecting me to a page requiring a username. They have not responded yet.
I removed the Y-main board with the upper and lower buffer boards intact so as to not damage the boards. I am not sure if there are locking devices on the large black connectors CN5404 & 5504. Also is there a special tool for un-connecting CN5406 & 5506? (See photo)
I have a Philips 42PF7320A/37 with seven blinking lights. Repair cost through an authorized service rep is too high: $600+. After reading on line it appears my problems are in the Y Main or Y Buffer. Do you think PTS may be able to help with my challenge?
Old Drummer, that is indeed a BB board... It's propritary... It's that way because Samsung doesn't want Philips stealing it's ideas to make their Tvs..
The only authorized center for those is PTS Electronics and I believe Tri State Module is about to get authorization soon... Other than that it is not replaceable at component level and those part markings will do you no good - they're not in any list that you'll ever find...

PS... Good job static testing to find two smts... Is that all you found wrong? No regulator failure?

Old Drummer,
No special tool to unbutton the buffers from the board, but that's fine just the way it is... Just call PTS 800-844-7871 and you should be able to speak with someone regarding the rebuild.
Simply send it in - in a well padded box - and it takes about 10-15 days normally turn-around. Might be a bit longer with the holidays upon us..

This is a follow up for others with the same problem. Thanks to Premtech's advice, I sent all 3 boards to PTS and they resolved problem by determining that the lower buffer board was defective and they repaired it. I now have a great HDTV. Thanks again Premtech.
